Be honest...do you think I've failed in life?

1. I'm 30 years old

2. Work 2 jobs and go to school

3. My first job is an elementary school cafertia. I'm trying to get out of there and only need 48 credit hours (from college) to move up. By the end of the semester, I will have 28.

4. My 2nd job is a famous factory. I've been there for 12 years and only have 13 years left before I can retire.

5. I live in a one bedroom apartment.

6. No girlfriend.

There's nothing wrong with your life. It sounds like you have a plan to make one for yourself and there isn't one thing on your list to be ashamed of. Now go give yourself a hug!

You so seem a bit needy...

No disrespect intended, but your posts are redundant, and you seem to want attention.

Focus on what u have..............not what u don't.

U have only failed or succeeded based on your own measurements.

I think you should try saying POSITIVE affirmations about yourself, all day every day. Let it become your inner dialogue. You seem like a nice guy but you should think more highly of yourself. sad

and btw, working two jobs and going to school is impressive- and, who gives a shit how many bedrooms your apt. has? Even if you're sleeping on a couch temporarily it doesn't necasarily mean you've failed in life!--- There are many powerful people who had a rough patch and were even homeless, Mark Burnett, John Paul Mitchell, -- just off the top of my head. So... stop belittling every thing about yourself...

and further, if you lived in a two bedroom apt would it mean you'd "made it" ? Ridiculious.

When you start thinking about these things, just stop and think about all of the hundreds of thousands of people in the world who are in far worse situations than you and who would be happy to trade places with you.

Do you know how many people in America would be happy to find one job? You have two! A one bedroom apartment? That's great! Thousands of people are homeless in America or are about to be homeless because either they are being evicted or have/are losing their homes to foreclosures, fires, natural disasters, etc. No girlfriend? Being alone is better than being with someone who is going to make your life a living hell. So many are in relationships and marriages that are poisening them. Take this time to truly get to know, love and appreicate yourself. It will make you a better partner when you do find the right person. Be grateful, Boo. Count your blessings because you are blessed. biggrin biggrin

If you say you are a failure, you have failed.

If you say you'r not, than you haven't failed.

You define yourself. Not somebody else.

Today I can think of a 10 things that are wrong with me. Tommorrow I can think of a 10 things that I'm excepttionally good at. Both good and wrong things are parts of who I am.

If I would listen to the people who only focus on my negative sides, I would think I was a failure. If I only had ears for those who can see nothing but the good things about me, I would think I was the best person on earth.

Luckily, I have friends who know both sides and deal with both sides. Just like I do with them.

It's not about your bank account or the ''prettiness" of your partner that makes you a succesful person, right?

At what point is somebody a failure or not in your opinion?

I don't think you've "failed in life" at all.

First of all, you're obviously a very hard worker. Take pride in that!

Me, I'm single and eminently happy. Wouldn't trade it. Coupledom doesn't hold up to any cost/benefit analysis for me. And I could easily live in a one-bedroom (hell, I'd be fine in a bachelor). Simplicity is where it's at.

Lastly, I will leave you with some wisdom from Dale Carnegie:

"“Everybody in the world is seeking happiness—and there is one sure way to find it. That is by controlling your thoughts. Happiness doesn’t depend on outward conditions. It depends on inner conditions. It isn’t what you have or who you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.”

In that case, if a definition of "successful" is a thread that outlives you, he'd be successful in both life and the afterlife.
