I went to Boston Market yesterday (that's a chain of roasted chicken joints for those of you unfamiliar with the name)...and they packed my order in paper bags.
In fact, the last time that I went to Stop-&-Shop, they packed my groceries in old-fashioned paper bags.

Sorry to hear that you get so much aggression over the plastic bags.
Not everybody knows the harming effect of it for nature, animals and humans?
Maybe it helps to put up a picture on the counter or wall to explain. If people understand why it's better they bring their own bag, in stead of wasting all that plastic, you might not get scolded at?
"If you don't bring your own bag, you have to buy one."
And I'm impressed that at least one state in the US starts to protect the environment from the consequences of mindless consuming. I guess in California people face the consequences of their polluting consumerism at the moment and have to deal with drought and less water. 99% of my posts are ironic. Yes. However, the good news is that people are becoming aware of their own contribution to these problems now.
I really think there are positive changes incorporated at the moment.
Charging ten cents for a bag, is a great accomplishment and will have great positive consequences for the environment. 99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%. | |

I wasn't the only person walking out of Crate & Barrell with bags in my hand, but I was stopped. As I said, par the course in the country. Yes, it can and does happen often everyhwere in the USA... the disconnect of what doesn't happen in this country never ceases to amaze me.
