Anybody here still like Ipod Classics?

I had an Ipod Classic 4G 20 GB that worked like a trouper for 10 years until recently (I just had the battery replaced). I was going to take it to an Apple dealer--until I found out that Apple doesn't make Ipod Classics anymore or replace batteries (which used to cost $50). So, I went on E-bay and bought a refurbished Ipod with the Wolfson sound chip, which according to many reviewers, has the best sound of any of the Ipods (4G and 5G). I don't like 5G--I bought one and returned it. But, I am very happy with the reconditioned 4G I have--like the seller says--it's a music machine that doesn't quit.

So does anybody still like these discontinued "music machines" besides me? Since I moved to a new apartment and can't blast my stereo anymore, I listen to music with headphones on the computer or the Ipod more than I used to...

I have considered the new Fiio x1, which you can install a memory card in yourself, and I've read good reviews about it. You don't have to depend on Itunes with that. Has anyone used it and can comment on it? I don't want to stream music on a cell phone--still old-fashioned in that sense. LOL

call I am more likely to have a current playlist on my iPhone though these days. I have considered outmoding my iPod by just maxing the memory on my next iPhone.

hmmm The only thing holding me back is that I don't like draining my iPhone battery playing music on it, and running iPod separately on its own battery would help sustain that.

Yep. But I have the iPod Classic 160 GB. I just updated yesterday. As I was updating in iTunes, I thought, Oh God, please do not let my little iPod go down... nod

I still have my 80gb from 9 years ago. Almost 9,000 songs on it. Not sure why anyone would want anything different. Is mine supposed to give out one day?

I do. I keep it in my car. I don't carry it around as much anymore.

dancerella

The iPod is my only source of listening to music. I teach dance and use it for work and pleasure every day. I read an article which states they stopped selling them a year ago and now its considered hip to have one as a retro thing and you can get them on ebay. Ridiculous!
