Films with jump-cuts?

I'm looking for examples of films (especially post-1980), that feature jump-cuts.

Of course, Godard used them. Woody Allen's Husbands and Wives and Deconstructing Harry...

I'm told Duncan Jones' Moon uses them?

Surely, with so many film buffs here, you guys can help me out?

Wow, so many movies use them, even mainstream comedies. It's typically in a part where a solitary character has to go through some process in a single environment. Like trying to cook. Or waiting.

But my mind is a blank!

Are they true "jump-cuts" (i.e. not just jumping forward in the scene, but doing so in an abrupt way that - say - skips dialogue and/or just moves the character(s) body positions)?

In terms of practice, a jump cut is any cut where the camera setup stays the same but time is taken out of the shot or sequenceof shots (it doesn't matter how much time). So if someone shifts position, that's time, if someone is doing something over hours, that's time. If the weather changes, it could still be a jump cut. As long as there is no transition and no attempt to hide or smooth over the cut with a change in camera perspective or focal length on the lens.

don't know why I'm typing quieter..

Jump cuts are bad art. They are lousy for the eyes and soul. Husbands and Wives is jumpy and boring.

hmmm Just off the top of my head, Run Lola Run, Traffic, The Wrestler, Tetsuo: The Iron Man, Tree of Life (possibly, don't remember if it uses jump cuts with great certainty), The Bourne Identity (+Supremacy).

music I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world. music

Well, of course lots would disagree. I don't know of many that would call Breathless (for example) bad art. And Husbands and Wives holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. "Different strokes" and all that...

Husbands and Wives is (of course) intentionally "jumpy".

I understand what you mean about jump cuts being "lousy for the eyes", but for the "soul"? How so?

Also, I just remembered the Assault on Precinct 13 remake used jump-cuts in the beginning. You should check those films out to confirm they are what you mean, my memory is fuzzy about the precise cutting techniques they used (sorry about that), I don't want to give misinformation biggrin
