This would be my dream! Get Hicks and Newt back, make Alien 3 and Ressurection a dream sequence (naff but I'll take it to get the gang back together!). Alas, I fear this wont come off the ground. Blomkamp released his concept sketches last month and said the project is pretty much dead in the water.

How good would this have been though: https://www.youtube.com/w...k_x9W1xKng

I would love it, but not if they fuck it up the way they fucked up the Alien prequel. I was quite content with the way Alien Resurrection ended.

I always thought that the third film was meant to be a hyper state dream. Yes, for another Alien with Sigourney. Just Make the Aliens above Earth on a station-with the threat of them getting to Earth.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

Yeah, Prometheus was a turd, no doubt...

Never enjoyed Resurrection the way one should enjoy an Alien film, from behind a sofa cushion. The most enjoyable bits were the ones I laughed at, mostly thanks to the genius Ron Perlman "I can get you off...maybe not the ship", "Earth, what a sh*thole" . Anytime you find yourself laughing an an Alien film, something has gone wrong... confused

the Alien franchise died with Alien 3, Resurrection didn't resurrect shit...the less said about the brainless AvP spinoff and the turd Prometheus (promised a lot,... delivered little, and wrong) the better

during the last 15 years there have been some very good Alien videogames, but that's about it: the movie franchise of Alien should be put to rest already (you can't resurrect what has been DEAD since 1992)...

at this point I'd rather have JAMES CAMERON directing a REAL sequel to "Aliens"

of course ain't gonna happen; instead I'll get Abadah 2, a movie I don't want to (and I won't) see...

If Sigourney Weaver isn't in this new movie, then I won't be seeing it. sad mad hmph!

New ‘Alien’ Movie Confirmed with Director Neill Blomkamp

FEBRUARY 18, 2015 | 04:32PM PT

Justin Kroll

Film Reporter@krolljvar

20th Century Fox has closed a deal with director Neill Blomkamp to develop a new “Alien” movie, sources confirm.

The untitled sci-fi project is separate from “Prometheus 2,” which Fox is still making with Ridley Scott.

Blomkamp, who directed “District 9″ and the upcoming Sony feature “Chappie,” had been teasing the project in recent months but said the extra-terrestrial reboot was likely abandoned. It was supposed to star “Alien” veteran Sigourney Weaver.

But on Wednesday Blomkamp confirmed the tentpole was back on track at Fox.

“So I think this is officially my next film,” he confirmed on Instagram.

It’s unclear whether Weaver is still attached to the movie.

According to insiders, the new “Alien” takes place years after the “Prometheus” sequel. Scott is producing both films through his production company Scott Free.

“Prometheus,” also distributed by Fox, was “loosely based” on the “Alien” franchise and earned over $400 million worldwide. But the 3D movie opened to mixed reviews, and Fox hopes Blomkamp, who last directed “Elysium,” can take the franchise to the next level.

Born in South Africa, the 35 year-old Blomkamp is repped by WME.

Looks likely Sigourney onboard and love the fact it's ignoring alien3 and resurrection.

so the plot (in my imagination) is that Ripley wakes up in a faulty hypersleep chamber, looks in the mirror and sees she is 30 years OLDER and is so infuriated the alien gets it.

Alien Resurrection should not exist. Steaming pile of poop. If this sequel goes forward it appears they are planning on completely ignoring that movie as well as Alien 3. It looks like it will be a direct sequel to Alien and Aliens.

.... as ZombieKitten already postes. *cough*read before replying*cough* lol

New ‘Alien’ Won’t Undo ‘Alien 3′ or ‘Resurrection,’ Director Neill Blomkamp Says

https://www.yahoo.com/movies/s/alien-won-t-undo-alien-3-resurrection-director-184258582.html

Director Neill Blomkamp is setting the record straight that his upcoming “Alien” sequel won’t “undo” the events of “Alien 3” or “Alien: Resurrection.”

It appears as though the new movie will take place before the sequels, serving as a bridge between the first two films, “Alien” and “Aliens.”

“My favorites are the first two movies, so I want to make a film that’s connected to ‘Alien’ and ‘Aliens,’” he told AlloCine. “That’s my goal. I’m not trying to undo ‘Alien 3′ or ‘Alien: Resurrection;’ I just want it to be connected to Alien ‘1’ and ‘2.’”

The untitled 20th Century Fox sci-fi project is separate from “Prometheus 2,” which Fox is still making with Ridley Scott.

“Alien” star Sigourney Weaver said she’s always been interested in giving her classic character, Ellen Ripley, a proper ending.

“I think we left a series that’s quite beloved just sort of literally hanging in the air,” Weaver told AlloCine. “I didn’t like the way it was going. I think it’s hard to manufacture a good story just because they want to make another one. I guess I always wanted to complete this story and it wasn’t really ’til Neill and I started talking that I thought, ‘This is why we’ve waited however many years it’s been.’”

Blomkamp’s latest film, “Chappie,” opens on Friday.

Hmm....confusing. Article says its a bridge between the first two films. How can this be though, being that Ripley spent the entire time in hyper sleep? That's gonna be a pretty dull 120 minutes!

But Blomkamp says its only "connected to 1 and 2" and "I always wanted to complete this story". So how can it be a conclusion following on from just the first two and not wipe out what happened in 3 and 4...??

I caught that, too. Still don't really have a clue what is happening other than they're making a new Alien movie with Neill Blomkamp, who I think is the absolutely PERFECT director for the project.

I played and loved it immensely..this game was a dream come true for every fan of the Alien franchise.

Anyway, a new Alien movie with Sigourney and perhaps even Michael Biehn in it? Excuse me for a minute, I'll have to scrub that jizz from my pants...
