Mine was awesome! We went to our condo in Galveston. We watched my three nieces compete in a cheerleading contest. I've been to lots of dance competitions but this was my first cheerleading competition. My nieces were awesome! Two of the three won the National Championship in their division! Though to be fair, I later found out that almost every cheerleading competition held anywhere is a "National Championship", LOL.

When we got back to the condo, the flowers I'd arranged for were waiting in the lobby. Score!

Then we (me, my wife and my mother-in-law) had a great dinner at Rudy and Paco's on The Strand in Galveston. After that, we walked a couple blocks and saw the Knights of Moamus Mardi Gras parade.

This was the first Mardi Gras I've ever been to. And now I can say I've been to Mardi Gras. So please don't anyone ever ask me to go again, because I've already seen it, LOL.

I had 3 options for Valentines Day (the kids were with their mother so I was on my own).

1. Drive to Brooklyn to catch a comedy show about bad relationships
2. Do some housecleaning

3. Sleep


I thopught I'd choose #2. But first I hit the mall to get some stuff. However by the time that I got home I had no energy left, so I wound up choosing #3 by default.

...it was a very restful weekend...

I was supposed to work 7-midnight at Barnes and Noble.

It was snowing, so the store was dead.

I got to leave early...

It was warm.

Cried my eyes out, and I was very lucky that I had to review the reports of my students.

And I had to figure out a new system of the University to upload all the feedback and reports.

Next year I hope to have a better Valentine.

Thing is, I can't stand most porn.

I get irritated by how porn is centered around women satisfying men. Porn is not very emancipated, nor reflects the way I like to epxerience sex.

And yes, some women and men are evil indeed.

However, there must be some guy who is not evil and who does love me for who I am, and vice versa, right?

I'm not a romantic soul anymore, but I still have better hopes than watching porn.

On the other hand, if love would be something for me, it would probably have happenend.

I might have to accept that current love rules don't tune with my character.

Yes, men look at porn ALOT. That's because we're horny dogs at a primal level.

BUT...men have the propensity to fall in LOVE harder & faster than women.

When a man finds that ONE that gives him that tingly feeling in his gut (as opposed to his penis) he surrenders. When a man falls in love it's BIG. That's why you talk about men being "whipped" a whole lot more than women. A man can even go and have sex with other women and STILL be in love with his wife/girlfriend because we can treat it as a bodily function (as opposed to most women who cannot detach the act from the emotion). But still you'll see men hold on to that attachment, emotionallly, even after the woman has grown tired of him & detached herself emotionally from the relationship.

Not all the time of course, and every person & situation is unique.

I'm just saying that men can be VERY serious about this thing called love, moreso than women at times.
