Is there a final word on a prince appearance? And isn't ll cool j the worst host? he has about as much personality and charisma as John legend
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I will check the website for info about Prince.

I have been an L L Cool J fan since his " I Need Love"
song was on the radio. I like him and think he is a great
host. He is also a Capricorn, like me. Lol. Some
other signs will not like us.

I like LL as host.

He has sunstantial and credible musical background and seems genuinely there for the awards.

He's not a comedian.

I have been told that Prince is supposed to be there. This is not to confirm that he has anything in store. But he has a seat. I guess he could flake out or be a no show.

The Grammy page does not indicate that Prince will perform
or present. Maybe he will be in the audience? or make a
surprise appearance?

Some of the other performers tonight are:

Annie Lennox, Tom Jones, Katy Perry,

Gwen Stefani, Pharell Williams, Tony Bennett,

Lady Gaga, Common, John Legend, Beyonce,

Herbie Hancock.

music woot!

Did I read somewhere that there is a Stevie Wonder tribute? If so, Prince'll be on stage.

Make it so, Number One...

Annie Lennox killed it--just by the power of her naked voice.

I did late laundry, but I did get a glimpse of Prince from the news. I'm afraid the thrill of all this kind of stuff is gone for me. But I'll catch the highlights. Doesn't sound like anybody did anything obnoxious for once, it's been done so much it's boring.

Heck I didn't even do The Walking Dead, and I even posted a thread with enthusiasm and didn't watch, what the heck happened to my time last night?

Shouldn't Tom Petty have been onstage with Sam Smith for at least a couple of those Grammys?

The nominees weren't that great this year therefore the drop in ratings.

But still TONS of people watched.

As for The Walking Dead? Well I don't know but maybe you realized that it's a show about zombies? shrug

Oh stop it you.

It was determined that since Tom and the other co-writer added nothing new to the song the grammy's weren't going to shoehorn him in as a nominee.

My favorite performances of the night were:

Madonna, Ariana Grande, Annie Lennox,

Tony and Gaga, Rihanna with Kanye and Paul,

Kanyes solo, Mary J and Sam, Beyonce,

John Legend and Common.

Kanye is funny. At least he stopped and left
the stage. He was probably mad that he did
not get the award for record of the year! He
is a Gemini. Honest, blunt, impulsive, can
act immature at times. I like his new single.
I will buy his new album.

It was a great show. I watched the whole
3.5 hrs, because Prince and alot of my
Other favorite singers were there. I love
music!

Zombies, grammy nominees, what's the diff.... I keed.

And way, for one, me personally, watching the grammy's was necessary not to miss out on those headline grabbing special moments that happened once in history. Today that's no longer necessary. I can catch those later. The nature of the beast I guess.

Two, those headline grabbing moments use to come from stage performances, at least I think they did, today it seems it's about inappropriate behavior, not my cup of tea, anyway even that will be repeated on a loop so many times one couldn't help but see it eventually, why make any effort.

LMAO - "added nothing new to the song"?!? They didn't add ANYTHING to the song. Oh, except they wrote the chorus's melody 26 years ago!

Smith's publishing company is paying Petty and Jeff Lynne 12.5% of the royalties, so SOMEone thinks they're due some cash.

In all honesty, I don't know how Sam Smith can justify not having Petty and Lynne onstage with him. Jeff Lynne was there and actually performed.

It's not just me that's saying this:

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Maybe it was on his lawyers' advice, but Sam Smith should have at least acknowledged Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne in one of his multitude of thank-you speeches at the 57th annual Grammy Awards Sunday night.

Four times -- with wins for best new artist, best song, best record and best pop vocal album -- Smith had a chance to thank Petty and Lynne for the song "Stay With Me,'' off his "In the Lonely Hour'' LP. As the entire world knows now -- and apparently everybody but Smith and his co-writers knew the first time they heard the song -- "Stay With Me'' is basically "I Won't Back Down'' with new lyrics.

He and his handlers have reached a legal settlement with the two, and agreed to give them co-writer credits for "Stay With Me.'' That's great, and as it should be, especially since it means that the usual Grammy boost in sales will mean more money in terms of royalties for Petty and Lynne.

But there's the right thing and The Right Thing. The Right Thing would have been for Smith to say something when he had the biggest stage he may ever have.
