Super Bowl food/party thread!

Yay! Another Super Bowl Thread. omg This one is not about the game though.

Is anybody having a party or cooking something special...going to a sports bar maybe?

We're just having pizza, wings, wine, cake and a guilt-free veggie platter. lol

What are you guys gonna eat?

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Our guest won't be coming, blizzard. evillol It will be just my man, our kid, our neighbors, and I. My husband is going to cook one large aluminum pan full of ribs, rib-tips and wings; we ordered a small platter of subs, and 2 extra large thin crust pizzas. I'm making a shrimp dip and banana pudding. My neighbors are bring the drinks; I'll be asleep, drunk, or both by half-time. lol

I forgot about the veggie platter, fuck it. Go in the frige and grab a carrot if they are so inclined to do so.

I was going to host a small party but the 12" of snow predicted for today also made me cancel those plans. Feels like a pizza & wings night!

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I haven't been to a Super Bowl party since the Redskins went to the Bowl back in the, when was it, late 70's? I'll watch the game alone at home with some KFC wings and some Lambrusco or Muscato and a splib. wink

Menu change!

Since both of my sons have the day off I decided to make my world famous curry chicken stew, which they love... woot!

Besides, I think it's a tad healthier than pizza and fried wings.

I make it with chicken and vegatables including carrots, celery, potatoes, beans and onion, seasoned with curry, paprika, bay leaf, salt, pepper, cumin and mrs dash stewed in cream of celery soup to thicken and served over brown rice.

YUM!

Gonna top it off with my award winning iced tea and a spice cake. biggrin

We'll our neighbor's had to put on snow shoes to get to our house. This storm puts our "Hallowen Hurricane on the lake" storm to shame. lol

At some point I'll go out on the deck and shoot some video... well, maybe not. lol Total white out conditions.

Yep, we got all 12 of those inches. When you add all of the drifting snow, I had some major shoveling to do this morning. Job closed all offices, THANK GOD. I feel for PurpleJedi...a bowl full of Tostitos? Damn.

NO the Redskins made it in 73, then '83, 84, 88, and '92. no "late seventies" appearance, but your point is taken... it's been a minute

No Super Bowl party for me, but I did find it amusing while listening to the radio as they ran down the amounts of various food and drink Americans consumed during the game, the largest consumption being vegetables. Who'd of thunk, more veggies than wings this year. The PSAs are working on our psyche.
