why do people only dance when they are drunk ?

loads of people say that they like dancing so why dont we see more people dancing in unusual places

like at work or in the shopping malls where music is constantly played, where i work we have a radio on all day every day from the minute you walk in right up to home time, as yet i havnt seen anyone

being so moved by the music that they had to dance,i think the reason for this is the fact that they

havnt had any alcohol, i think what i am trying to say is that if dancing is so good then why does it

only take place in certain places where people have taken drugs or alcohol.is this because dancing

is so ludicrous that people are embarrassed to dance when sober ?

er

There is a time and a place for everything. Dancing in a shopping mall would look as silly as walking around with shopping bags in a disco.

I don't drink alcohol... yet I dance at parties and shows.

I work part time at a bookstore where music is played constantly.
I have been known to "shimmy while I work", but it depends what's playing. When we were playing the "Get On Up" soundtrack, I coldn't stay still. giggle

I have this problem.

I'm shy so it really takes something like alcohol to bring my defenses down. Without it, with an audience, I just can't move.

If you want to feel great from the moment you wake up in the morning, then first thing put on a greast song and dance to it. If you dance for as little as 15 seconds right after you wake up, I absolutely guarantee you will begin the day in a fantastic mood!

I'll break out in dance almost anywhere a good song comes on. Grocery store, shopping mall, whatever. That's what music is for!

I used to not care and hum along to my headphones in public and tap my foot a little if I was feeling what I was hearing. I don't drink but if a dancefloor was empty, I didn't care and would just start...I did have coffee though before it.

Are you asking why people only dance when they are drunk? Or are you asking why people dance only when they are drunk? confuse

Well I'll answer both smile

#1 - When people are drunk they do a lot more than just dance. They talk louder, get overly chummy such as putting their arm around people, and they say things they normally wouldn't say.

#2 - Plenty of people dance when they are sober. Those who dance only when they are drunk do so because alcohol lowers people's inhibitions and their self-awareness. So basically, when people are drunk they simply don't give a damn how they look when they are dancing.

This is only a cultural/personality issue... if you knew enough Puerto Rican mothers you wouldn't think any of that.

1- You never have to drink to dance. I never knew any people who had to drink to dance, of any color really. shrug

2- A Latino mom will snatch you up and dance with you while she's cooking, washing dishes or vacuuming... especially if you are her child and a Fania record is playing featuring Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, Celia Cruz, and Ray Baretta or some other salsa artist like Mark Anthony or Iris Chacon. What??!!!

I myself have been known to break out in song and just dance or dance while I worked when I was in the salon or when I worked retail setting up window displays. Folks would stare but I didn't give one damn.

Some people are just generally more reserved and need lots of motivation to feel free enough to cut loose.

At the clubs (centuries ago) when I did indulge I would normally be the 1st one on the dance floor, even when in high school I would be the 1st or only dancer on the dance floor. It just never bothered me.

I hate dancing; I mean, not only I refuse to dance, but I also hate watching people dance; 95% of my fav music artists are not dance oriented

Yup, although for me it's only if the music is good. I can't dance to the same ole songs they play at literally every wedding, like Bob Segar's "Old Time Rock n Roll". If I'm not feeling it, I can't dance to it no matter how drunk I am. lol

Yes, same in my culture about moms, so true!!! That sounds a lot like me at the end of high school and in my uni days, not giving a shit if what I dance to and how makes someone's night and they remember in a good way later smile
