It looks very acted and staged but with all that's going on in the US right now they needed a little good press so I don't blame them for doing it.

That's what I was thinking. I've seen tons of stories in the news lately about "good" or "funny" cops. I guess it's no coincidence given that tens of thousands of people have hit the streets protesting police tactics. This video seems like it's part of a very concerted effort to change the image of police across the country.

That crossed my mind too when I watched the video, that they're trying to make a lighter image of police.

I think it's fantastic, dude is clearly a Doug Heffernan goofball who was probably voted Class Clown in school. lol

Why do some of you have a hard time accepting the fact that cops are people too, with all kinds of different personalities just like every other occupation?

Sure he knew he was being recorded, but obviously he didn't care. Anybody who thinks a dead-serious Dirty Harry type cop would make fun of themselves like that for the sole purpose of "lightening the image of police departments" is misguided. If that wasn't his real personality, there's no way in hell he'd do something like that because with truly serious & reserved cops their image is everything to them.

Not one person said that or even implied that.

It's pretty obvious that this guy it pretty light hearted and a joker, even with the department admitting it was all staged, you can tell it's his personality...but anyone who thinks that this viral video was not a very timely strategic move on their part is being naive.

Staged or not, I really enjoyed seeing this. Very light-hearted and looks like he's have a great time. These are the kinds of stories we need to see more often. I'm so sick to death of all the crazy ass shit going on in this world, from ISIS, to kids shooting their siblings, to racism, to rape etc, etc. The list goes on and on. Seeing this video made me smile.

Dude should keep his hands on the steering wheel and focus on the street and not drive around with his eyes closed. If he saw a black teenager driving around like that he´d probably accuse him of being high and beat the shit out of him or kill him on the spot.

Looks like damage control to me, with all that´s been going on lately regarding police brutality.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Feel good news is always awesome, and we definitely need more happy stories, just wish this wasn't so contrived. To me, at least, it loses it's effectiveness.

But videos like these are great:

Cops are decent people. This is just a reminder. Some of us seem to have forgotten.

Am I the only one who thinks the song, "Shake it Off" sounds a lot like Outkast's song, "Hey Ya"? I can hear similarities in both songs, but maybe that's just me. shrug

That has proven to be the case. Good call. Still a funny video.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
