My bed shakes at night

I just typed out a whole long thing explaining what's going on but when I went to post it said, "Message Inconsistency" and didn't post. (Something is so wrong with my account) Anyway, the gist of it is, for the last two months I have woken to my bed shaking. I've had my boyfriend stay with me (now all the time) and he has felt it. I had my mother and sister stay one night and they both felt it. It is definately shaking. I live on the grounds where twenty something men died during the Civil War and through the years I've had knocking on my wall, one night a man say loud in my ear (while I slept) "Can you hear me?" but this is new. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this or known this to happen to anyone? I called my neighbor and she has had all sorts of "ghostly" things but not bed shaking. I'm moving and hope it doesn't follow me.

Could it be there's a water or electrical line running underneath your bedroom, or something causing white noise, that's giving off a reverberation? Are you near a roadway or flight pattern? Is it possible the structure is what's vibrating and not the bed, due to wind?

I by all means am no expert, But i've seen plenty of paranormal shows lol
geek As i recall...
Ghost do not follow people when they move, they haunt the location, property area

If it does follow you, its not a ghost its something dark, evil, malevolent... you get the gist boxed

If you are going to move then going forward do not talk about the strange occurrences to anyone, do not acknowledge or answer any unknown voices. You've got people praying for you and God's Angels are all around you protecting you..

I’d say it sounds like a sleep disorder, but since your boyfriend and family members have also felt it, there’s likely a physical cause. Earthquakes, train tracks nearby, nearby construction, neighbors, etc. I’d investigate all of that first.

Thank you, NinaB! I am going to do that! The first time it happened I stood up and said, "In the name of Jesus Christ, get out of my room!" and then I ran like hell into the living room! I've always heard that unclean spirits would flee in the name of Jesus but that hasn't worked. This has been going on for two months now so I've tried man things, even one Sunday opening my bedroom window and saying, "Please leave, I don't want any part of this..." ---yada, yada, yada,---- but it didn't work. Shook like crazy that very night. But I will try this with the salt and the smudging and especially in my new home. thanks for the advice smile

Fragileundertow---- Yes! You are right! I believe that as well. My boyfriend said, "This, I think is just a ghost, but if it comes to your new house we're calling the Church!"As a side note- I don't do drugs, don't drink, don't even smoke! And I am not involved in ANY occult practices. I don't even like scary movies so I don't know why anything would ever want to target me!

Also, I typed this long thing out in my first post that didn't post but, the first night my bed shook, I went to bed at 11:00, and woke up at midnight, I was facing the wall and there was a light on my wall, like it came from the hallway even though there was no light on whatsoever in the hall or in my room. I lay there looking at it for a minute thinking, "What is that light?" and then a small round object (like a head) came into the light and then moved, blocking the entire light out. I snapped around and looked into the hallway and nothing- no light on , nothing. So I went back to sleep thinking it was was that sleep thing where you wake up in the middle of dreaming and hallucinate (even though I've never done that before) and I went back to sleep. I awoke at three a.m. to the bed shaking and it hasn't stopped. I should also say that it has "followed" me- shaking the couch or the bed in the spare bedroom when I move there but for some reason it's much more frequent and stronger in the back of the house where the bedroom is. That is also the older part of the house and the attic and basement are right under my bedroom but not the other part of the house. Like I said, a camp of soldiers were overtaken on my property and the plaque on my property says that twenty soldiers and two horses were killed here so I'm thinking it must have something to do with that. I certainly hope it has nothing to do with me personally because I don't want any part of it! When it first happened, my grandmother had just passed so I thought maybe it was her but she was a devout Christian and I think she's in heaven and not hanging around shaking my bed.

I agree that superfan1984 should also count out all the suggestions Carrie made.
Considering superfan1984's property's history & other things she mentioned I don't think cleansing can do any harm.
I don't talk about things like this much in the real world let alone online as I am aware of the likelihood of responses like yours.
As I said to superfan1984 it all depends on her personal tastes/beliefs but MY advice would be to cleanse... Totally her choice on whether that appeals to her or not.

What you call wack has been practiced for hundreds if not thousands of years by thousands if not millions of people from various cultures/traditions.

You're more than welcome, glad I could help, good luck to you.
Cleansing a new home is always recommended btw
thumbs up!

I'm surprised that people would think the idea of a ghost or a spirit is whack, obviously there's something to that- too many people have had things happen and seen things for too long for there not to be that sort of thing. I do believe there can be ghosts and things of that nature, I'm just surprised as I have never had this sort of thing happen to me. I'm not really open to any of this so that is why I'm surprised but I certainly think it exists. But, yes, I surely hope there is a reasonable explanation and that it is not a ghost or spirit! But I will be doing the cleansing just in case...thanks for all advice

I find the concept of ghost very sad. Not that it has anything to do with truth or not. I just get sad thinking that with the vastiness and wonders of the universe, that once one leaves their physical limitations the idea of being stuck forever in one spot reliving a single life event very depressing. Talk about stagnant. I don't even want to know that's even a possibility for my afterlife, I tend to ignore these things.

Ugh, I know how frustrating it is to get your feelings out and then the stupid site gives you that message. I have found that if you are getting it all out like that, in the future, copy the entire post and paste it somewhere else (word). At least you'll have a backup if the "message" attacks again.

Never had to deal with the supernatural stuff, although i believe in it. Good Luck!

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

What do you mean, likely answers? I mean, I KNOW it is my bed shaking and I know it's not from pipes or whatever. I guess you'd have to be there but the bed SHAKES, seriously, like someone has come up under the bed and has "goosed" me. I'm laying there perfectly still, or in a deep sleep (although a few times I have been wide awake) and the thing just shakes. I've had it happen in other rooms as well but it's mostly in the back of the house. But I have had it do it in the living room when I was on the couch. My mom and sister got so scared they said they'd never come back. Anyway, I'm trying to just move on. Move out of here and hope that whatever it is leaves me alone. I will probably check in with the new tenants in a month or so, though. smile

.

Do you live in a city or town that has any of the following:

Roads, trains, subway, factories?

.

Do you have neighbours? What are their comments about it?

They're going to need a whole gaggle of excorist if I find out this life was more liberating than my afterlife. The tantrum I'm going to throw will rival any sleepy, hungry four year old.

nd33- Yes, I have all of that- there's a train somewhere near me as I hear it at night. But I've lived here three years and this is new. It just started two months ago. I've only talked to one neighbor and she says her house is definately haunted. She is a middle aged totally normal woman, she's a pediatric nurse and very normal. She says she has knocking on the wall (I also have that) three knocks in sets of three (sounds like knuckles) she also says she will be laying in bed and hear things crashing downstairs but when she goes down there's nothing broken. It's interesting to note that the people who lived there before her fought like War of the Roses. It could be anything but I think it's a spirit. Like I say, I just hope it stays here when I go and doesn't come with me!
