Anybody want to talk about presents?

question

I got the Lenny Kravitz -Strut and Pink Floyd - The Endless River limited edition fancy shmancy versions. Completely different packaging but both really, REALLY nice. The Lenny vinyl is like drool The first record is grey and white marble with a pink label, the second is pink and white with a grey label. Comes with a book, poster, postard, velum envelope. The Floyd has a hard back book, post card like inserts and a blu-ray with 5.1, bonus tracks and some videos.

I got like, other stuff, too... but what's a favorite thing some of y'all got. Or do your whole damn list. Whatevers.

actually, my mom accidentally gave me a couple of adult porn books. she grabbed them from the bodice ripper section of the bookstore without knowing that these five "hot, hot holidays stories" are the kind that 'ignite holiday flames" and that i could "turn the heat way up with these stories of desire". lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

See, I think that's weird. Christmas is a big deal for my family (which is very small), a time when we can all just relax and enjoy ourselves. Giving and receiving presents is a big part of our festivities. Like, we all still exchange lists so people actually get things they want/need. Idk, never really understood the "I'm too old to talk about my presents" vibe, but I noticed nobody wanted to talk about it one other year when I tried to create a similar thread.

well, we adults give gifts to the kids and i still give my mom gifts (dad passed) but as far as being excited about getting 'things' for christmas, i just don't feel it anymore lol

except i should add, about the accidental porno books giggle those are going to the cabin for some good old fashioned story telling purposes

Mr. Freeze must have got to both of us. Funny thing - I was really laid out Christmas Day. Couldn't move. Know what I watched for two straight hours?

I feel much better, and I hope you do, too!

I love giving people gifts and at the same time, selecting gifts for people gives me sooo much
anxiety. Christmas gives me the opportunity to give out gifts without really needing to explain why.

The anxiety stems from the simple fact that deep down I want the person to LOVE the gift,
but I also want the gift to be a surprise that I selected all on my own.

This year my favorite gifts were:

1) A new set of heavy duty handcuffs love

2) A bottle of Guilty by Gucci cloud9

3) A coconut scraper biggrin

My partners family came over to spend Christmas at our place for the very first time. I am in awe
over how wonderfully everything went. I loved spending time with them and look foward to doing
it again next year grouphug

I also recieved these great things:
1) Amazon gift card (Going to get Settlers of Catan)
2) Eyeshadow palette

3) A scarf

4) Two scented candles love

5) 3 books selected by a good friend of mine mushy

6) Tea

7) Baking gear

8) A few adult toys to add to my collection whip

I have already re-started my gift fund for next year!

I received a really nice set of hiking/trekking poles. I'm pretty excited about them.

I'm equally excited about the fancy food processor I received as well.

And I'm also pretty excited about the gift I gave my bf, an introductory flying lesson. smile

I got makeup, a rug, gift certificates, snow boots, crest white strips and sensodyne tooth paste. Big, comfy pajamas and slippers. I wished for it and it came. Love you Santa biggrin

...

Loved best that my son had a blast. His Christmas from me came early in that we went to a dinosaur exhibit in DC. It was really special because he's spoiled so much, he gets showered in junk presents all the time, so I was excited to have a whole day of dinosaurs and bouncing and dinosaurs and playing in the maze, riding dinos, feeding dinos, etc. DINOSAURS biggrin
