Mad Max: Fury Road trailer

I was hesitiant about this movie, but I'll be damned if that aint a beautiful trailer. 70 year old George Miller blows all these young action directors out of the water.

Looks absolutely badass. And Tom Hardy is by far my favorite "new" actor anyway.

Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?

looks interesting

I was hesitant at first, but perhaps the Max franchise needs/deserves a reboot/return. The original trilogy is not that popular anymore, which is sad, because if you wanna see good action films set in a post-apocalypse world, look no further...perhaps this film will make audiences interested again in tat particular (cold war) subgenre of the main action/adventure genre...

Mel Gibson ain't on it? fine, he is an sshole and he already gave a very lazy performance in Thunderdome (85); I think that he never truly cared about the franchise to begin with, even if it kickstarted his career...

and I agree with the OP: George Miller, Spielberg and James Cameron are the best action directors of all time, in my opinion...

Love the original Mad Mel, but this Max thing looks pretty fucking awesome!

The last time I watched the first two Mad Mel movies (fuck that Disney Thunderdome garbage) my opinion on them was that they sadly hadn't aged all that well, but after watching them again this weekend after repeatedly watching the new trailer, I take my words back Mad Mel is still the ultimate shit!

Absolutely agree with you...I think the car chase in Mad Max II is still one of the finest moments in action movies to this day....no CGI, lots of injured stuntmen, amazing scenes, amazing ideas, amazing pacing. And I hope that that kind of apocalyptic genre makes a comeback. The few apocalyptic movies we have these days don´t even come close to Mad Max I and II.

Too bad that part III sucked so bad.

I am worried that the new installment might turn out like Mad Max III. Too over the top in a bad way (the masks, the unrealistic cars, lame jokes), the girls (remind me a bit of the kids in part III).

Part III could´ve been really good but they made it too family oriented, whereas Mad Max I and II had a totally different audience.

I wonder if George Miller has a "feel" for what made the original movies so popular in the first place, and I ´m worried that, much like George Lucas or Prince, he doesn´t really understand what the fans really want.

And....composer Brian May is no longer part of the team because he passed away, and his incredible score is part of the reason why Mad Max II worked so well. I heart a carboncopy of the Mad Max II theme in some other, unrelated movie the other day, basically the same melody.

.

But hey, with all this being said, I still want to see Fury Road....been waiting for more than a decade now. lol

This trailer is slightly different than the one from the comic con.

I like it but I hope the classical music is not in the movie.

Some of the characters look too reminiscent of the characters in Mad Max III confused

Dude at the 0.30 seconds mark is the same actor who played Toecutter in Mad Max pt. I .

Looking forward to watching this on the big screen. But I still remain a bit skeptical. I liked the look and feel of part II way too much.

Not to be confused with Brian May from Queen.

The composer Brian May passed away in 1997.

What? That's what makes it seem like it might be cool to me. I'm so happy to see something that doesn't have the cliche Hans Zimmer vibe.

But if you look at the imdb page someone called Junkie XL is doing the score. "Progressive music producer/DJ."

Junkie XL (Tom Holkenborg) is/was a dutch DJ/Producer (he did a lot of shitty music in the 1990's) who had an "internship" and did some work on Hans Zimmer's "The Dark Knight Rises" score... So the cliche Hans Zimmer vibe could still be in there...

I didn't realize the guy passed away almost 20 years ago... I thought he was just retired and hoped he would be back for this new outing... Too bad...
