DISC Analysis and Personality Profiling Tools

Databank's thread about rationality, etc. prompted me to start a thread about something we are utilizing in our company. It's called "personality profiling". It's been around for a long time, and is used by all top companies (Fortune 500, etc.).

Basically, it boils down to learning how to identify which of the four personality types a person is (including yourself). When you identify a person's profile, you can learn the best ways to communicate with them, or sell something to them. And of course it's important to know your own personality type, so that you know where you're coming from and can adapt your natural style to fit that of the person you are dealing with.

We use the DISC method. "DISC" stands for the four types of personalities:

D = Directive and Dominant
I = Interactive and Influencing
S = Steady or Stable
C = Conscientious or Cautious

The first step is to take a simple, free test that will do a pretty good job telling you what your personality type is. Here is the link. Don't worry - it's absolutely free, and you do not have to supply a single bit of personal information (they will ask your age, gender, education level and country of residency, but that is it). You just look at sets of four personality statements, and pick the most-accurate and least-accurate descriptions pertaining to you.

Here is the link: https://www.123test.com/d...lity-test/

If anyone is interested, I'll be happy to post all the strategies and techniques for dealing with each personality type. Just let me know!

BTW, I am about as high an "I" as you can get, with my "D" level being above the mean. My "S" and "C" levels are below the mean.

My wife is a psychologist, and all she ever talks about are these darned personality inventories. mad I find them moderately interesting, but not particularly illuminating. That said, I'll do this one for you, Rodeo.

My DISC breakdown...

Dominance - 5%

Influence - 29%

Steadiness - 38%

Compliance - 27%

I'd say this is fairly accurate. But I already knew I'd be something in this ballpark.

Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ
πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν
τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”
