Never heard about this until now LeGarrette Blount released by Pittsburgh Steelers683
LeGarrette Blount's Monday night walk-off has cost him his job. The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Tuesday that Blount has been released. The roster move comes one day after the running back reportedly left the field before the end of Monday's win over the Tennessee Titans in Nashville. "We believe the decision to release LeGarrette is in the best interest of the organization and wish him the best of luck," Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said in a statement released by the team. Blount didn't receive a single carry on Monday, watching from the sideline as Le'Veon Bell rushed for a career-high 204 yards on 33 carries. NFL Media's Aditi Kinkhabwala saw Blount already dressed and prepared to board the team buses by the time most of the Steelers had reached the locker room. NFL Media's Albert Breer texted a Steelers source on the reasoning behind Blount's release. The reply: "Selfish behavior." The source added that Blount had exhibited a pattern of behavior that came to a head on Monday. If a team were to claim Blount, it would cost his new squad $317,647 this season and a non-guaranteed 2015 base salary of $2 million, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports. Blount clearly lacked allies in his own locker room, making the decision by management an easy one. Blount can be a bruising and productive back in the right situation (see his playoff performance with the Patriots in January), but has now worn out his welcome with two teams. Buyer beware. I wish all these Tom Coughlin bashers would fuck off. Giants problems are due to a lack of talent, especially the o-line. That falls squarely on Jerry Reese.

LeGarrette Blount, released by the Steelers on Tuesday, was at the Patriots' facility Thursday and subsequently signed a deal, the team announced. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported the contract is for two years, per a source informed of the situation. Blount was cut this week after leaving Monday night's game early, displeased that he didn't get a single carry in Pittsburgh's win over the Titans. Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports Blount will make the veteran minimum this season. The veteran back passed through waivers on Wednesday, allowing the Pats to sign him at a lower rate. Blount spent last season in New England, compiling 772 yards on 153 carries with seven touchdowns. His most memorable performance came in a playoff victory over the Indianapolis Colts, in which he ran for 166 yards and four scores. The Pats will add Blount to a backfield of Jonas Gray -- coming off a 201-yard, four-score game -- and Shane Vereen as the current mainstays. New England released first-year defensive lineman Casey Walker to free space on the 53-man roster. It's such a savvy, Belichickian move to add a piece late in the season for the veteran minimum. The bruising back could come in handy as the weather dips in Foxboro down the stretch of the season. At the very least, the Pats got cheap labor that has shown success in their system. Kinda boring when your team has a bye, though I did get to see Mike Wallace and Emmanuel Sanders play in different uniforms.

Giants season just gets worse and worse. They had the fucking Cowboys on the ropes and the defense couldn't get one fucking stop. Where the hell was JPP?
They better fix the o-line and get some damn pass rushers during the off-season.

Yeah, Beckham is the real deal. Giants have to rebuild the o-line like the Cowboys did theirs.

Steelers can't win against teams with losing records Steelers won't beat many teams without support from the run game and offense with that Swiss cheese secondary. All week it was Ike Taylor will be back. So what? Was he gonna transform into Antonio Cromartie while he was injured? One thing that could help the defense is to put Vince Williams in the starting lineup. He is the physical presence they need badly in the middle and he always has a nose for the football. I hope they do this with an eye towards moving Shazier to the outside next season as we patiently wait for Jason Worlids time to be up. Dri Archer is working out for us too right.
