Sleep Disorders....do you have one? Help needed

The more I learn about sleep, the more I am in disbelief about how little we know or can control. As a child, I had a very bad sleep disorder, but children were not considered back then. I often would have terrible injuries from falls and running in my sleep. I also experienced night terrors regularly. When my children were young, I saw in one this potential. His eyes were open but he was sleep walking. He came into the kitchen where I was studying at the table and began rummaging through all of the cabinets and was urgently searching for a board. It was 3 a.m. and my heart sank because I knew it wasn't good. I had hoped that would be his only episode, that maybe he would outgrow it. The episodes recently became more regular, but he is older now, and I am afraid for him. I am going to alarm the house so that he doesnt get outside. Until then, I am going to invest in a baby monitor so that I will know when things are not well. We are just starting the journey to gettiing this problem addressed, so if anybody knows of resources I should consider, I would be highly grateful.

Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Poor baby. Get him into a sleep study as soon as possible.

I have an extremely vivid dreamlife. A couple weekends ago I dreamed a man had pinned me down and was sitting on my chest. I felt like I couldn't breathe so I was really trying to get him off me. At one point of the dream I started swinging my fists trying to hit him.

I woke up with my fist swinging through the air eek Sleep in my bed at your own risk! lol

Personally I do not have any sleeping disorders that im aware of, but its funny because last night I was watching "sleepwalk with me" where comedian Mike Birbiglia who has a sleeping disorder was talking about an incident where he took a running leap through his 2nd story hotel room window and now I'm reading this. Yeah, I'd say don't ignore it hoping it'll go away, get medical help.

I don't fall asleep easily. I lie awake until 3 or 7 in the morning.

And when I finally sleep, I don't wake up from anything.

It's invalidating my life, however, I never took it serious enough to go to a docter. Until recently.

I will get a research in December and I truly hope I will be able to live my life just like everybody else does in 2015. I would love to be able to function in the morning and during the day!

So, please, help your kid and don't wait any longer. He deserves a good life, therefore, a good sleep.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.
