Honestly, I feel like many fat people are binge/emotional/over eaters. The people that aren't fat for medical reasons anyway. When people think of eating disorders they usually just think of anorexia or bulimia but I believe overeating and binging is way more prevelent than people think especially in America with all the addicting salty and sugary foods. And of course fat people don't get much sympathy because people just see fat people as greedy overindulgers while some people in the world starve and all they have to do is put the fork down when really it's probably more than that. So yeah if someone is complaining about being fat while still eating fattening foods they probably got some other underlying issues.

Its all about balance. Macronutrients vs micronutrients. Insoluble fiber vs Soluble fiber. The amount of calories put on and the amount of calories burned off. When you eat and how much eat also play an important role.
1. people need to get away from processed foods and start cooking from fresh ingredients. 2.get the right type of fat in your diet from macadamian nuts or fatty fish like salmon, trout, or mackerel. 3.eat more greens like collard greens, kale, the various chards, and mustard greens 4. reduce the amount of starchy foods in your diet like rice, potatoes, pasta, and bread. Those are one of the biggest causes of weight gain so regulate the amount. 5. Get your sugar intake down to a minimum. Sugar is probably the biggest cause of weight gain and health problems. Stop replacing healthy foods with sodas, sweets, and snacks. Try fresh berries or a piece of 80% dark chocolate. 6. Drink water and get 7.5 to 8 hours of sleep 7. Exercise. Get at least 30 min of medium activity a day. Try resistence training at least 3 to 4 days a week. When you have a natural, balanced diet, your body can't wait to burn off the fat fuel cells. I consider these things an extravagence to eat because it is actually very processed and all carbohydrates once broken down. But I would still like to get my carbs from here than a side of soda, yknow? | |

Definitely, better than soda. These carbs aren't bad for you. Its just too much can lead to weight gain.
I drink a green smoothie everday.
2 cups of greens like kale or chard 2 cups of berries like blueberries, strawberries, goju berries, blackberries, or raspberries 1/2 banana 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk or water 1 tbsp of almond butter or chia seeds
Put in a blender and drink. You wont even taste the greens. You already have 4 cups of your recommended 5 cups of fruits and vegetables. | |

I NEVER understood fat people until I got fat...
there are two kinds of fat people.
First kind- care abut what others think, look for validation in other people, are secretly needy for friends, like to complain about most things in their life... if it isn't their fat ass, its their shitty hair, lack-luster lovelife, crappy boyfriend, shitty job...etc.
Second kind- does't give a fuck about being skinny and thinks being thin is overrated. They don't complain but, other people complain about them. These happy fat fucks don't bother anyone, and they just like to eat, no thyroid issues, no medical stuff, no mental health issues... just a love to eat good food and do nothing to burn off the extra calories.
People who have issues with other people being fat, usually are the same people who take issues with others being happier than them. Competitive assholes always sizing others up, in a never-ending self-imposed pissing match with all those around them because they can nt be happy with what they actually have. People who are unhappy and want that for others too. These unhappy people have much to say abut other people's lives, gossiping to no end. So the second kind of fat person usually will steer clear of those who want to project their issues on these happy fat people in order to get a sense of control because they themselves lack control in their own life and basically need to mind their own bodies and business. No, they don't need your diet advice, they don't need to be told to see a doctor nor do they need to be looked at as if they are poor or disgusting. Yes, that's right... a person can be fat AND happy with a healthy sex life and be long lived.
The worst part of human nature is the judgemental nature we all tend to posess. People are always trying to tell others what they should be concerned with or are trying to project their issues on others.
Please know this- A bitch will be a bitch whether she's fat or skinny, and a complainer will be a complainer whether they are fat or skinny too.

I used to put a ton of sugar in coffee or tea (But not each much candy) but I have a kidney issue so I cut way back. I now use Splenda.... when I have sugar i get a big buzz... I can drink 36 oz of coffee and I am normal (well as normal as I am) but add a little sugar and I am off the chain! "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!" | |

Actually, one can live like that and still be fat. I'm a prime example. I'm a vegetarian, I cook the majority of my own meals, I avoid most processed foods, I sleep well, I exercise (I biked the MS150 in June), I drink more water than anything... The weight does not "just fall off" when you adopt healthy habits. I'm smaller than I was several years ago, but I plateaued at one point and have stuck there since.
Never had diabetes, an issue w/cholesterol, my blood pressure is on the low side even. |

Instead of "people who complain about being fat," the thread title should be "men in their 20s who complain about being fat" - because they're really the only ones for whom the diet/exercise/sleep paradigm works without a hitch. Yes, women's bodies are designed to store fat more efficiently for the purpose of childbearing. In fact, some studies show when exercsing women burn fat better than men, but gain it all back in resting periods. Some women are more lean and others struggle to lose fat. From what I've read, not only do women store fat differently from men, but also from different women based on genetics and regional background. You're right not all bodies repsond the same way. | |

It's so true. I'm American but even I'm shocked when I go get fast food every so often and the small sized beverages are about what a large would have been in the 90s. It's crazy. Small gets bigger and bigger. People should be concerned about this but I think most people would be angry if they change sizes back to what they were before. [Edited 10/8/14 11:48am] | |
