I didn't like Sookie having to kill Bill when, as someone else said, all he had to do was go out into the sun. True Blood is another example of a series that started off good and slowly lost that spark that made it special. Not every series can a Breaking Bad.
I don't think Sookie did-It looked liked bill staked himself-she was just holding on to the stake. Yeah thats right. It was the whole him asking her to kill him and taking her right up to the edge of doing it and then plunging the stake in himself while shes holding it - I get it - I just didn't like it. There was a hint of cruelty in Bills actions. You have to be cruel to be kind. I get it. I guess I would have preferred he walk into the sunrise and go poof. |

I feel the same way about Boardwalk Empire as well. I was highly disappointed when they killed my beloved Richard in the season finale next year and swore off that this season would be total BS....however, I see they have fast forwarded the years and the final season will be set in 1931, which means that Luciano and Capone will be more powerful than Nucky. I can't wait.
I've stayed a little more invested in Boardwalk than True Blood. Boardwalk has made some of the same mistakes -- repeating central storylines, underuse of compelling characters -- but it has appeared to right the ship. I've always wanted to see more focus on Capone and the Luciano-Lansky duo (one of the more compelling storylines of the show). Jeffrey Wright's and Patricia Arquette's additions sent a jolt of energy through the show. I'm looking forward to it.

Best scene? Eric head-boppin' to techno music with the dead Yakuza in the back seat. I literally cracked up!!
Yeah, I did enjoy that, too!
But there was STILL not nearly enough of Pam and Eric.
That one scene was worth the boredom and disappointment. Still cracking up.

The car scene was cool, but hands-down the part that had me cracking up was when Eric told Ginger that they would finally do it, and she straddles him...then goes into convulsions on his lap.
The look on his face was priceless! By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! |

I thought the finale was really a poor ending to what has been a really good show. To be honest I didn't care for the final season much. Like all tv shows, going beyond 4 or 5 seasons just exposes being able to sustain a good storyline for so long. To me, there are very few exceptions to continuous story shows that are still good after that long. And even if they're still good after so long, they seem to end badly. I thought Dexter was pretty good all the way through (8 seasons?). I can't recall any others. |
