For those who watched, what did you think?

IMO, it was very soap opera-ish like. Why didn't Sookie just kill bill with her fairy ball instead of the stake? I mean, the fairy ball was going to kill him anyway right?

The end was very rushed to bring it all to full circle. I don't think I liked the cartoonish way the tied up Pam and Eric's storyline, but they lived, so oh well. A lackluster end to a lackluster season.

Thats was pretty obvious, If she used her all her power she would lose her fairy abilities and be "normal" again
And she made it clear she still wants to be a fairy

I didn't think it was obvious, giving the fact that she's used her fairy ball before and never lost 100% of her fairy powers. Sure the more she used the more it, they would seem to weaken less and less, but it never really went away. So why would one more fairy ball take away all her powers?

Yeah I do agree that Bill was turning back to human, as you said, guess its a side effect to a vampire being "near the end"...so ironic.

I really do wish they would have ended Pam and Eric's storyline better, but then again, I wish they could have done this whole final season better, so oh well. I think the highlight was them ending with a Led Zeppelin song.

Im guessing her ablitlys were already weak and to use enough power to kill him would drain her fully
Btw.. Wasn't there talk how she already drained alot of her powers in the last season or 2?
Or maybe thats all in my head

Bill should have took a true death buy sunlight with Sookie
Maybe kissing till he faded in to dust. or holding hands.. something like Godric did

I didn't care for it. Too much Bill and Sookie. By the time she got around to staking him, I was ready to pop him myself. I did like Sarah Newlin ending up as a vamp feeder, though. When she asked Pam to turn her, I did get a good chuckle. And LaLa only getting a 2 seconds of the finale made me

I actually enjoyed the last show. Yes, it should have been a 2 hour episode so the Eric/Pam and other story lines could have more time to finish. I thought the Bill/Sookie story line was great. Sookie loved Bill and would help him, but not give up herself to do it. That's growth for Sookie, in years past she would chuck it all for her man.

As for Sookie using her light ball-they made that perfectly clear that you can only do it once and you lose your powers. You can use your regular "light" to stun a vampire, but not kill.

When exactly did they make it clear? Like I said above, she actually did use her light ball more than once...not just shined it, but used it....so her using it on Bill shouldn't had made her "completely human" afterwards. Actually, her ball should have seemed weak since she had used it a few times before but it wasn't last night, so it really doesn't make a bit of sense. Show had too many damn rules anyway.

Just like the whole Asian crew with terrible southern accents...I didn't get that either, nor did I exert any extra energy to try and understand it. In fact, when Eric and Pam eliminated them last night, I was asking why didn't they just do that in the first place? I always found myself reading a magazine or something while True Blood was on, so yeah I guess I could have missed key points The show was boring and stale. Normally with my favorite HBO shows I'm totally in tune, as I am with "Game of Thrones" and "Boardwalk Empire".

Yeah I do remember that, that's what I was talking about earlier, but I thought she threw the powerball at that crazy maynad woman...and then that's when her powers started to weaken and the next time she tried to do it, she couldn't formulate a full powerball, it had weakened. But I could have sworn that she actually threw the power ball at a few more people, but each time it was weak. Oh well. At the end of the day, she drove the stake into Bill and he turned into mush. So the mission was accomplished.

Yeah, I definitely can't wait for The Walking Dead to start back up. I think GOT has lost a tiny bit of steam, but not enough to say it's going downhill...same with TWD.

Actually, funny you mention TWD. It always has been a much better show than True Blood, but it seems to be falling into a trap that basically reduced True Blood to a paint-by-numbers summer soap.

TWD is starting to repeat itself.

GoT is trying to reset the gameboard. But it still packed some haymaker punches, and I think the action will pick up in S5.

As for True Blood, to paraphrase Peter Griffin, the final season was all about seeing what the show would "limp to the barn with." For all intents and purposes, the show ran out of ideas in Season 5, and the last 2 seasons were spent trying to reconcile character storylines. I'm glad they ended it; it really died when Alan Ball left.

I was okay with the finale until I realized they didn't even give him one damned line!!!! Then I was He was the one I loved through the entire series and they just gave him 2 seconds at the dinner table and didn't even show his lover's face at all??? What kind of shit was that?

Yes I agree with that too. I feel the same way about Boardwalk Empire as well. I was highly disappointed when they killed my beloved Richard in the season finale last year and I swore off that this new season would be total BS....however, I see they have fast forwarded the years and the final season will be set in 1931, which means that Luciano and Capone will be more powerful than Nucky. I can't wait.

BIG QUESTION that keeps nagging at me (maybe I missed something along the way)...what happened to Bill's omnipotence after the whole Lilith thing? Wasn't he like, some godlike vamp after that whole fiasco? Remember when the stake in the heart did nothing to him?

Where did those powers go?

The ending was OK. Made to make us feel all warm & fuzzy. I did appreciate that they didn't show the new man in Sookie's life - only showed the back of him - to keep him as irrelevant.

To save all the vamps in Sarah Newlin's camp from the true death by sun, Bill had to let them all feed off of him and they pretty much drained him dry of Lilith and Warlow's godly blood and were able to withstand the sun but when Warlow got staked by Jason, it rendered Bill and the rest of the vamps back to normal.

I liked the end with everyone at the table and you couldn't see Sookie's husband/lover/boyfriend. I didn't like Sookie having to kill Bill when, as someone else said, all he had to do was go out into the sun. True Blood is another example of a series that started off good and slowly lost that spark that made it special. Not every series can a Breaking Bad.

I don't think Sookie did-It looked liked bill staked himself-she was just holding on to the stake.
