Random Babble; stuff that doesn't fit into a thread....

But you feel the need to share.

I have done this in the past and met people easily through this thread.

People spoke of what was on their mind.

Posting pics is greatly appretiated.

Your comments CAN relate to the comments already posted but they absolutely do not have to.

okay here's what i've been thinking. it has been said that there are ley lines/dragon lines, rings of energy encircling our globe that our (giant magnet) planet generates by virtue of spinning about on its axis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ley_line; http://en.wikipedia.org/w...d_geometry

in the old days, the egyptian pyramids were built on the intersections of these lines, chinese palaces and tombs likewise were deliberately constructed in such places as well. in ireland and scotland, standing stone circles (dolmens) mark such ley line intersection 'power points'.

it has been said that at these points, so-called 'supernatural events' (a/k/a physics we don't yet understand) occur with more frequency at these nodes because of the abundance of energy generated there. in some traditions ghosts, apparitions, 'faeries' etc. are said to be found there.

what if, in through this modern age of electricity wired through our homes and workplaces and even wirelessly transmitted around us, we have created a new world, an entire modern day network of man-made power nodes, which are increasingly opening our world to intrusion from other dimensions? eek smile just a thought.

When my mum was a child there were faerie rings (stone circles) near the family's farm in Ireland & she was strongly forbidden to go near them.

She went as often as she could biggrin

She had a lifelong love & affinity with The Little People.

The contrast between the modern day Disney image of the faeries & the Celtic history of them is very interesting to me.

They are still treated with respect (& fear) by the old folk in the countryside.

cool! thanks for sharing. i've never personally met a faerie or otherwise, but i used to live in an apartment where (what someone later told me was) an apparition used to regularly walk down the hall, and something often touched my left shoulder from behind me when no one was there. i didn't know this was supposed to be scary, so i was never frightened. i've also been in rooms where there were shadows that shoudn't have been there. those experiences have left me with questions.

You're welcome smile my mum never actually met one either but she loved them & had the look of a faerie about her & was very young at heart.
I've had some unexplained experiences too so I know what you mean.
Some people believe that the ghost or apparition u saw that used to regularly walk down the hall is a kind of auric echo or astral holograph of sorts.
I've heard of shadow people too & seemingly u see them from the corner of your eye.
The being that touched your shoulder may have been an ancestor.

What is Kathie Lee Gifford's appeal? I am generally celebrity indifferent without strong feelings one way or the other, but this gal makes me feel stabby. I do not get her appeal.

And for that matter, Oreos are overrated as well.

And gummy-anythings! Who is the person that said, "Know what would be good? Fruit flavored boogers!" and how did they get so many people on board with that?

I miss Night Court. "But I'm feeling much better now."

So glad that I started this again; as always i truly enjoy reading this page!

I do not want to turn this page into something that gets sent to politics and religion but I am very very interested in all sorts of faeries, ghosts and other such things.

Have been in Boston since the end of last may. As a matter of fact heading back to NOLA to collect my junk from a storage space at the end of this month. Miss the South so very much but my daughter, who is only 12, is here. So I must make the best of it!!!

You may already know this but there is a beautiful (& famous) book by Brian Froud called Faeries.

Pain in the butt whitening stuff. Brilliant me. I'm walking around with a sore throat, lips cracking, sinuses not doing so well, thinking I'm coming down with some kind of a virus all the time. And didn't put together how my gums reacted to whitening strips vs. all this whitening stuff that put into the toothgels and mouthwashes. I prefer the gel toothpaste over the original paste and since that was the only type of gel stores seem to carry my brain shut off. Now I'm just dealing the regular old fashioned yucky paste and non-whitening mouthwashes and I feel so much better, no sore throats, lips are smooth, sinuses back to normal.
