If I had to do it all over again...

If I had to do it all over again, I would've become a Jesuit who studied music and philosophy

and theology.

Why can't you "do it all over again?" You're not dead... yet.

I've tasted the wares of Earthly, sensual pleasures (I like having sex with women) so therefore,

becoming a Jesuit is out of the question. I'm just saying that if I had to start my life over again,

I would become a Jesuit before having experienced the tasty wares of Earth's sensual pleasures!

Meshell once said, "The world will blind you." She's right.

I know many a Jesuit of somewhat sordid personal history. smile God allows U-turns.

I'd devote myself to a musical instrument and at least a second language in high school, fly through undergrad, and move abroad much earlier for grad school.

I would learn and specialise in a musical instrument too and travel the world as much as possible and never ever get married - but still have kids

Regret is a useless emotion, so I am not regretting anything I've done. We grow stronger as a result of our mistakes and hardships.

BUT...hypothetically speaking...

I would have followed my dreams and aspirations instead of following a pair of green eyes.

Focused on my career(s), focused on making money, focused on getting myself SET so that at this age, I would have travelled the world, not constantly worried about bills, make sure my parents are set, and have a little something-something stashed away in the bank for a rainy day.

By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Your honesty is so refreshing.

I would have thought I would say the same (since I never, ever wanted children) but in my case having my son led me down a better road.

If I had the chance to do it all again, the only thing I would change is that I would have travelled more in my 20s.

I have learned so much about myself and the world because of my kids. I am definitely a better person, have more patience and am kinder to others because of them. However, I also did not ever want kids and the hell I have been through because of them makes me not hesitate to state that's what I would do differently.

I would have hugged, kissed & thanked my mum a whole lot more & not wasted so much time on rehashing the bad times from childhood.
I would have kept it at the forefront of my mind that I would be without her & unconditional love one day.

I would have done a few more things for me. Studied harder, picked my career.. Travelled more.
The one thing I wouldn't change is having my two kids, truly the best thing I have done in my life. In fact I feel like my purpose was to put them here, raise them well and watch them chase their dreams

JustErin's right, your honesty is very refreshing.
My life has been full of kids, both professionally & privately but I knew from a very young age that kids & marriage was not in the stars for me.
I've had a lot of assumptions made of me because of this, and some outright insults.
But I've always known I did the right thing for me & my hypothetical kids.

I would have told my dad to suck it when he said he wouldn't pay my tuition if I majored in Theatre.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Do you mean you would have majored in theatre and paid your own way?
