JoeTyler

never understood why some (many?) people hate getting "old"

the ONE & ONLY alternative is, well, death

I certainly hope to be 42 myself, and beyond

Getting old ain't for sissies, but it definitely beats the alternative.

I am happy to be healthy, to have a wonderful family, to be alive. Just down because I have made several hundred bad life decisions. But I need to just let it go, right?

This thread kind of sucks.

At least my birthday today is the same number as Jackie Robinson's baseball jersey. That's kind of cool.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Rough day. Just way too much self-assessment on my lot in life and never gave myself a chance to enjoy it. It's one of those days where I'm sitting there going, "You know 24 years ago I was graduating high school and 24 years from now I will be 66." And I can remember being 18 like it was freaking yesterday. So scary. I have an awesome wife, two awesome children and yet my financial bad decisions continue to make my life so compromised and unsatisfactory. So i start a thread just to get some attention that it's my birthday, then I complain about my birthday, then I abandon the thread. Anyway, I thank the Org as always for being as close to therapy as I can afford right now.

I welcome my birthdays! They are blessings! With age (hopefully) comes wisdom. I would never wish to go back to my 20's or 30's. God, how naive and inexperience I was back then.
