Oh I don't doubt a fourth of the people taking the survey gave a geocentric answer, still doesn't translate that one out of every four Americans believe the Sun revolves around the Earth. Now do 1 in 4 could give a care less who revolves around who, that I'll believe.

Yeah I said the same thing up a few posts.

But it's proof that's what Americans believe.

whatever the % is I am sure it is global...but It seems like part of the anti-American bigotry. Like how schools are ranked 47th... but few mention that includes all kids from the highly advanced to the ones that function at a 6 month old. (or like how people say Cuba has better medical care than the US....LOL right)

Yeah I see it was taken in a lot of countries. And its funny how some items were not equally latched on to as quickly and as happily as that.
Reading comprehension is a mother, that I believe wholeheartedly.

There are 300+million people living in the United States of America.

If ONE QUARTER of our ADULT population believes in geocentrism (which I highly doubt), then I'd love to see what the rest of the world's percentages add up to.

Wouldn't be at all suprised to see figures of 50% or higher - especially in countries that have more undeveloped & rural compositions.

I was told by interplanet Janet that the Earth does go around the sun, and she should know because there hasn't been a planet that Janet hasn't seen.

Those statistics seem questionable.

Frankly I doubt one in four americans

know what geocentrism is.

Took an informal survey here and

100% percent surveyed had no idea

what geocentrism is. biggrin

Personally I think its a reading comprehension problem more than anything else.
