Travel sites?

So I was about to book a flight using Cheapoair.com - which actually was the cheapest price around.

But before I hit "buy", I decided to check online for reviews...and Yelp! is chock FULL of negative reviews for it!

I read through them, and most seem like user errors (wrong dates, wrong names, wrong price).

hmmm

Usually I get better prices going directly through the airline website, but in this case they're cheaper.

I'm very confused & undecided.

Does anyone have any experience with Cheapoair.com or can recommend a reliable site to get cheap airfare?

Unless they are massively cheaper I'd book direct with the carrier - cheapoair sounds like the no-service-any-kind-of-problem-and-you-are-screwed option.

Yeah I was thinking about it, and maybe the extra $50 for peace-of-mind is worth it.

I generally buy straight from the carrier or if I can't do whole itinirery with one airline I go to a price matching good old fashioned travel agent.

Not that we are exactly spoiled for choice down here in the antipodes...

I seem to use Expedia, and haven't had any troubles. I don't know if they're cheaper or more expensive than anywhere else

I'll compare Expedia to Kayak & the actual airline sites.

Gotta buy this ticket before fares go UP!!!

I heard that optimal time to buy air fares is 4 months in advance

Update:

Cheapoair = $820

Aer Lingus = $872

hmm I am going to spend the extra $52 on peace of mind.

Tell Nathan he has to go. And Tori Amos is playing in Amsterdam the week before the invasion so if he can stay that long he can see her there too. Being the fam that he is, I'm sure he knows all this already. lol

yeahthat

I submitted my passport renewal application yesterday.

I was toying with the idea of spending an afternoon in Iceland (since Icelandair stops there and allows like a 6 hr layover) but Aer Lingus has better prices.

shrug

But yes, I'm 99% sure that I'll be there! jet
