Why should a human life be devalued because someone struggles with addiction? Or any other socially unacceptable ailments? Is that the only standard counted... What about all the other "good" things someone accomplishes in his/her life? That doesn't count at all?!! confused

this saddened me when i heard this. dude was one of the few actors doing it that would get me to the theater on the strength of HIM being in the movie (i didn't see Boogie Nights tho) what's bugged is that even before i knew he had addiction issues, he STRUCK me as someone who would. can't explain it.

I don't think I've ever seen a movie with him in it where he wasn't excellent. The Master, Synecdoche New York, Charlie Wilson's War, Doubt, etc.--all made better because he was cast. This is a huge loss for cinema.
