Kids Knocking Out People for Fun

It's the newest trend!

http://www.kisscleveland.com/pages/java.html?article=11815092

For "fun." This story fro...Chris Lane, the Australian teenager who was shot and killed by three teenagers in Oklahoma because they were "bored."

According to the report, teenagers play a sick game called "knock out," which requires either a large group of people or individuals to attack someone on the street to see if they can "knock them out." One man who was interviewed about the "game" said the victim can be anyone, including a woman and her young children.

"You just knock them out, hit them with a blow and take their belongings," a teenager with a blurred face says.

Police believe "knock-out" led to the death of a homeless man in Hoboken, New Jersey which is right across from New York City.

"It could be anybody, it could be a mother with their children. I know one time they got the UPS guy, it's a macho thing," another man says.

Warning, the following video is extremely disturbing. People are shown being violently attacked and left unconscious on the street as teenagers walk away celebrating and laughing. It's horrific and a grave indictment of cultural decay. At least one of the victims shown in the video is a woman and one is a teacher.

"It's just more like picking a target that is alone, defensive, they just go boom when it's the right time and the right place," a young man with a blurred face says in the report.

Next there will be a discussion about how a group of young boys got shot to death after trying to
knock someone out.

The last attack shown was in London.

I would think it's very much about anger, despite what one of the interviewee's said.

These losers deserve whatever they get from doing this. If they end up dead, so be it. If they end up dead by a police officers gun, no one can claim police brutality either. Their behavior is disgusting.

Yes, this behavour is deplorable and disgusting and criminal but when horrible acts like this take place, why doesn't anyone ever seem to really ask, "why?". Why are these teens really behaving this way? What the hell is going on in their lives to commit such a horrible, cruel crime? Or to be witness to it and think it's funny? Why is this happening?

What avenues can we explore to prevent this kind of behaviour in the first place? Our simple reactive only culture is counter-productive. Always has been and always will be.

Extremely sad all around.

A competitive school system which compares pupils against each other solely by grades and intellectual ability. This comparison can breed jealousy and resentment. Some kids feel useless, disempowered and resentful and turn to violence in an attempt to reassert their authority. That's one factor.

What we are seeing is the result of treating physical violence so casually. Violence on TV, on the
radio, parents hitting their kids, cops shooting people down. Of course the youth is desensitized.
They are just young kids playing "games" and trying to establish themselves in their social
groups. Some of them really don't think they are doing anything wrong. I think this reflects the
messages they are recieving about violence.

Looks like I need to take some Kung Fu because all I know now is Crazy...either that or get my concealed weapon permit and leave the group of teens there in the street. Laugh at that, you pychopaths. evillol

The world is a dangerous place, I think rather then having to defend myself walking down the street, living in a remote area is sounding better every day. At least I can see my attacker coming, unless it's a bear. I don't know, I think I'm still going to learn Kung Fu.

Can you kick a bear's ass with Kung Fu?

Some people see being mean as funny. These people are far meaner than most and they live in an environment that supports the behavior. That's about all I can think of. Hopefully enough people in their community are horrified enough to turn them in (beat their a**) so they don't get comfortable getting away with this type of behavior. It needs to be punished.

Agreed, I also think it's lack of empathy for others and treating another person (Or picking on them) like a piece of shit gives them a sense of power over someone else. The victim is always viewed as less than human, so it's ok to treat them poorly.

Conversely, the perpetrator probably doesn't view themselves as human so think it's ok to act like animals.

maybe a letter to rolands martin with cc's to jessie jackson, julian bond, al sharpton, concerned black leaders and etc., regarding this growing black youth fiasco Hoboken, New Jersey.

this issue needs immediate attention.

if one of those violent trouble making youths get shot then the above mentioned will most likely organize marches and the related. (in reality no one can blame the victim if he or she took gun related retaliation against these aggressively violent youths)

why don't the al sharpton's, jessie jackson's and julian bonds organize marches or telethons to promote grants for these young folks to have alternatives to circumvent their boredum and lack of places for them to go to.
