While I consider myself a Long Island guy...the God-honest truth is that I was born in New Jersey.

My folks moved to Long Island when I was like 6 months old.

I've never lived north of southern California and only been to Canada a handful of time, but my impression is some feel its upper-crusty and exclusive cuz of its high cost of living. I've heard people say its bougie. Like Eagleton vs. Pawnee(parks & Rec) or maybe Majestic vs. Agrestic(weeds). Or rancho Cucamonga(Friday 2) vs the inland empire in general(where I'm from).

Your explaining only made thins more complicated. I was born in Alphen aan den Rijn, Holland am currently living in the beautiful city Gouda, so I don't have any idea what you're talking about. Only thing I understood was that Montreal is an expensive city to live in.

I wasn't clear so that makes sense.

To start, I was joking around and was jokingly attempting to attribute perceived negative stereotypes of a city onto a person. I also missed out on saying that French is the official language of the city and non-french speaking Canadians r frowned upon. That's at leat what I've heard about the city, as I've never been there...another reason to discount my comments.

Having been raised in an upper class neighborhood in relation to its neighbors I've seen the misconceptions each have about each other. Its the age old rich v. poor/poor v. rich fight; let them eat cake idea, and an obviously failed attempt(on my part) to bring humor out of it.

If I've offended justerin, I wasn't attempting to. If I haven't and have just made an ass of myself...oh well. Just some playful ribbing that goes on here.
