Lee Daniels cast Amy Adams for Janis Joplin BIOPIC, but he should have asked Pink. (NSFW) I Love Amy Adams. She’s a GREAT actress and I Loved her toughness in the Superman flick. I just wish Lee Daniels would have thought long & hard before giving her the role. Amy can sing on top of her acting chops and Lee will work’her till he gets what he wants on Film. I’m just surprised Lee took the SAFE route. Picking Amy is playing it safe if you ask me. Pink is an AWESOME singer and Hollywood needs to take her to the next level. Kevin Costner knew Whitney wasn’t a GRAND actor but Lord knows she had the Voice, The Face, The Body, the FULL package.
A flick on Janis Joplin would have been the PERFECT vehicle for Lee to introduce the world to Pink’s other talents. I HOPE Pink gets a shot at a BIG a role someday. There’s a Powerful Light surrounding her every time she takes the stage. She’s a special Artist and she’s suppose to be doing big things…

Lee Daniels has had a versatile career with "Precious," "The Paperboy," and his latest, "Lee Daniels' The Butler." The director shows no signs of being pigeonholed, revealing in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter his plans for his next three features.
First up is a Janis Joplin biopic, set to star Amy Adams.
"This is my next project for sure," Daniels tells THR, with SlashFilm noting that the film has been kicking around Hollywood since 2010, attached to various directors under the tentative title "Get It While You Can."
Daniels adds that he spent "The Butler"'s opening weekend holed up watching old videos of the singer. "I had no idea Janis Joplin was so smart -- intellectual, even," he says. "Look, some of the smartest people in the world have been drug addicts."
While sweet-as-apple-pie Adams may not be the first name that comes to mind when thinking of the late wild-child blues icon, Daniels defends his choice.
"Guess what? She can sing her ass off!" he says.
As for what's on the horizon after that project wraps, Daniels already has it all figured out.
"After Joplin, I'm hoping to get 'Miss Saigon' off the ground," he tells THR of his plans to adapt the beloved Broadway musical for the big screen. "And then -- I want to make a horror movie!"

I will be able to buy Amy as Janis a lot more than Pink, but that's just my opinion.

Exactly.
I can see Amy Adams in the role rather easily, and she's a good actress.

I have a weird attraction to her. And I saw her in that film where she was completely nude looking boss. Something else turned up while I was watching that. 
But I could see her doing Janis. Janis was an unusual beauty to me. |

That's what I'm sayin' most guys won't like her, but to me she is hot. She sure does look good in shorts. They could ugly up Joss Stone, she is a decent actress. Here is a good position:

All of them are too pretty. The problem is too many actresses today get plastic surgery especially pixie nose jobs to enhance their looks. Its almost impossible to find an actress today who looks anything close to Janis or anything like a real person. The only one who could have done a great job is Lili Taylor and she is too old now.
