Neither. IMO:

BMW = Driven by obnoxious asshats.

Lexus = Driven by old people. It's the rich person's Buick.

IMO, Audi is the car of choice these days.

LOL, I'm older than almost everybody!

And I'm still too young for a Lexus!

A Lexus is a fancy Toyata. Americans need fancy names to buy luxury, otherwise it's just a Toyota. So I'd buy an Avalon. smile

Can't argue: Lexus is the Cadillac for the older Xers.

But I drive one all the same.

Some BMer models are swagtastic. But the Lexus has great features, and a Toyota engine, which really doesn't get warmed up until 100,000 miles. Solid resale value.

Used to be the case.

But now the Camrys and Avalons are so expensive you might as well buy a Lexus.

Ideally, buy a used Lexus, anywhere between 15k and 30k.

My dad used to say all the time that a Lexus was nothing but a high priced Toyota. lol I have a Toyota now and absolutely love it, however, it's always been my dream to have a Bimmer one day. I've never been interested in a Benz, nor Lexus, it's always been BMW.

I would take a Beemer over a Lexus for sure.

But as Rodeo stated...I would choose an Audi over them in a heartbeat.

...and looking forward for the day when Lincoln can hang with them... wink

Def a Pearl White Lexus over a BMW. My Late Aunt's 1980's Gold Grill ex-Husband ruined a BMW for me when he used it to traffic drugs back in the day. When I see one I have Ghetto flashbacks.

I associate BMWs with asshats, drug dealers, spoiled kids and other less-desireables (no offense to anyone here that owns a BMW, unless you fit in those categories, LOL).

I've tried to buy a BMW twice. Here is what happened:

1. The first time, I wanted a 530i. The dealer had one. It had been in a slight accident during a previous test drive, and the front bumper had to be repaired and repainted. I still wanted it, so I said, "How much will you take off the sticker?" The dealer said, "Nothing". I said, "Good luck with your future endeavors".

2. I was test-driving cars at a Jaguar-BMW dealership, and the salesman was a complete ass. He wouldn't let me drive the cars in sport mode, and basically spent my test drives telling me how wonderful he was. I had already decided I wasn't buying a car from this probable cocaine addict when, as we were pulling into the lot, he said, "Look - there's my best customer!" Without my asking, he went on to say, "He owns several of the largest strip clubs in town!" That did it for me.

Neither. Cars don't turn me on. As long as it's clean, realiable and decent on gas mileage, I'm good. Even if I could afford a luxury car, I wouldn't buy one. I'd opt for an suv good on gas.

I guess it depends on your station in life as well.

Right now, even if I could, I wouldn't. I still need an SUV...have kids with bicycles to take to the park and take long road trips with and go camping, etc.

But later on, when they're grown and I'm an old man with a alot of money and looking for the next twenty-something blond babe to be at my side...I would get a BMW roadster.

wink (Don't you DARE burst my bubble!!!)

Scratch whatever I said.

I want one of these:

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian will spare no expense keeping themselves and their two-month-old daughter North safe. The rapper and the reality star have commissioned two bullet and bomb-proof vehicles, costing over a million dollars, to get them around Los Angeles and protect them from the prying eyes of paparazzi, as well as the reach of demented fans and, if need be, psychopaths.

For family drives, the vehicle of choice will be a $400,000 Chevrolet Kodiak based on President Obama's Cadillac One, a car that boast such features as Kevlar reinforcement, night-vision cameras, and steel rims you can drive on if the tires are blown off.

Besides the armoured cars--bought on the advice of Jay Z--Kanye is also insisting both he and the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star always have at least two bodyguards. If there have been any kidnapping threats against their daughter, Kanye isn't saying. But the fear is clearly on his mind.
