True Blood Season 6 ep 8 "Dead Meat"

With just 3 episodes left of this shortened season, it's all going by too damn fast!! I'm very much looking forward to seeing Eric go medieval on the Camp. Pam was in beautiful form last week and I'm thinking the shrink is going to wish he'd stuck to human patients.
*
From what I've seen, we're going to spend some time getting to know the #1 Female Vamp in Gen Pop, but hopefully that will be short lived with Pam dispatching her ass with the quickness.
*
Anywho...from www.true-blood.net as always...
*
"Sookie (Anna Paquin) faces a major dilemma in deciding whether to broker a deal between Warlow (Rob Kazinsky) and Bill (Stephen Moyer). Over in vamp camp, Jason (Ryan Kwanten) gets to know Violet (Karolina Wydra), while Sarah (Anna Camp) goes to extremes to keep Tru Blood flowing. Alcide (Joe Manganiello) makes a decision that will impact the futures of Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Sam (Sam Trammell)."

Really guys? The girl fight was great. Alcide finally started acting decent. Eric was lurking like a boss. The Steve Newlin/Sarah Newlin hamster wheel scene was hilarious. Even the Bellfleur scene was good.
*
Okay, yeah Sookie was annoying as fuck, but Bill was cold as hell & even Sam told her to mind her own business.
*
The whole now the chick is preg shit with Sam is boring, but it led to some decent dialog and her mom calling him Silver Fox was funny as hell.
*

I'm surprised so many people didn't like last night's episode. The show has been on a steady downward spiral for several seasons now, but last night's ep was one of the best, IMHO. The characters' allegiances are all up in the air right now. It's anyone's guess where they'll end up...

* Bon Temp's men finally seem to be over Sookie's coquettishness. Recognition of that fact -- and a struggle to reconcile with her destiny -- should make Sookie's decisions going forward fairly interesting.

* Eric, having lost what's most precious to him, is an absolute wildcard.

* Arlene is awesome as a defiant Bellefleur widow.

* There's actually a convincing threat any one of our favourite vamps could meet the true death -- or would need to posse up across lines of allegiance to avoid it.

* Sam finally comes by a workable love interest... and a kid! What will that mean to his willing presence in the powder keg of Bon Temp?

Plus: I wish Ms. Suzuki had gotten more licks in, but that was a decent girlfight bitchfight ...and we're almost done with the stupid weres! woot!

I'd also say the show is in an interesting place where social allegory is concerned. For years our sympathies for the supernatural characters have been milked. But now with such non-stop chaos, most viewers I know -- and certainly the show's human characters -- have reached various levels of fatigue. Lays the foundation for potentially very interesting commentary about how real-life groups -- and even their most well-intentioned members -- relate to one-another in trying times.

I'd say the show is the most interesting it's been in several seasons right now. That said, it's no doubt on its last leg. I'm certain it won't go beyond the originally planned seven seasons, and I see next season being decidedly short again.

That bitch fight was good! lol

Liked it a lot, accept for the Sookie scenes, too much bad drama, nobody wants you anymore sweetie.

Really looking forward to the finale, that Jezus woman is a good villian.

Like i said in a precious post, they are keeping it small, I like it.

I hear you, but I'm talking series arc, which has been headed south for 2 seasons. Not the season arc, which has been up and down like a polygraph test.

It's also got some great competition now. Squeezed between 2 shows hitting their prime -- GoT and Boardwalk -- this show, past its prime, isn't as compelling as it used to be. It seems as if most of these actors are tired of these roles.

Recall I said back in Season 4 that Sookie was the Devil. Lafayette co-signed me the next season. It seems now that everyone else has caught on.

This is also the second straight season where critical characters are in captivity, with another group of characters working at cross purposes to get them out. The most entertaining character of the Season -- the Governor -- is now gone. The other intriguing character -- Niall -- is MIA thus far. The pivotal character -- Warlow, introduced with a lot of fanfare -- has been tied up for about a 1/3 of the season, with nothing to do but what? pine after Sookie. Give him time, I guess.

The show still has its moments ("Eric." has now replaced "Sssookay!" as Bill's catchphrase, liked that sequence), but the vibe just seems off.

That whole sequence was tight and a little different for the show.

I was bored at first but cray cray Sarah Newlin made it better for me. I can't wait to see her get what she's got coming to her. Sookie getting told by both Bill and Sam was heart I don't like that NoName Vamp 1 that's sucking on Jason at all, if any vamp has to see the sun, it should be her and Steve Newlin's bitch asses.

Frankly, I'm looking very forward to the next two episodes.

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.
