A Beer thread

I know we've had these before...but yesterday after spending a few hours in the hot sun putting up a pool for the kiddies, I cracked open a beer and it was the most delicious thing in the universe at that perticular moment in time.

So I'm inspired to ask;

WHAT is your favorite beer?

What beer(s) do you drink the MOST?

Bottles or cans?

What beer(s) do you dislike?

Have you ever had a non-alcoholic brew?

Here I go;

WHAT is your favorite beer? Weihenstephaner - I tried it once at a German restaurant. Simply amazing! drool

What beer(s) do you drink the MOST? Dos Equis, lager, with lime. If available, Sapporo or Red Stripe Lite.

Bottles or cans? Dos Equis in a bottle. Sapporo in a can. Red Stripe Lite in a bottle.

What beer(s) do you dislike? Those dark ones that leave a bitter aftertaste.

Have you ever had a non-alcoholic brew? Nope. If not for a buzz, then I'll have a Coke.

My number one beer is Kölsch, a very pale lager brewed only in Köln, Germany...

now that's not easy to find here in Cali so my go to beer is usually an IPA or Guiness...

ahh, who am I kidding I'll drink just about anything...

I'm a member in my local Beer Parliament, I have about 2743 different beers to go... drink

I'm a very casual beer drinker, but I'll reply anyway...

WHAT is your favorite beer? Currently my favorite is Lindemans Framboise Lambic. It's a beer infused w/raspberry and it's freaking awesome. Plenty of fruity taste, but still tastes like beer. A regular beer dirnker may hate it, but I love it. Of course, I don't have it often.

What beer(s) do you drink the MOST? There are a lot of local breweries popping up all over Minneapolis and several are in my general area of the city. My bf and I like to bike over to one in particular and have a beer in the taproom or on the patio from time to time. Indeed is the name of the place and Daytripper is one of my faves there. It's a craft brew that's lower in alcohol (as the craft brews tend to be higher) and it's nice to be able to have more than one without feeling woozy. After that, probably any fancy IPA. I tend to like IPAs.

Bottles or cans? I prefer tap but they all have their place.

What beer(s) do you dislike? Bud, Miller, Coors. Any of the typical American beers. I'm a complete beer snob. In general I consider myself more of a wine drinker, but I definitely appreciate a good beer in the right context.

Have you ever had a non-alcoholic brew? Nope.

I sort of live in Beer Central. We have amazing breweries around Madison - Ale Asylum, Capital and New Glarus, to name just three.

What beer(s) do you drink the most?

I have three:

Supper Club (by Capital) is a classic lager. In fact, they named it Supper Club because it's the kind of beer you'd drink with a fish fry at a Wisconsin supper club - light (but not too light), refreshing, and not overly "hoppy." This is the beer I drink as a "shower beer."

Spotted Cow (by New Glarus) is just a good, all-around beer. Technically, it's a farmhouse ale - and they use a variety of grains in making it. Pret' near every bar in Wisconsin has this on tap, now - so it's my "default" beer.

Hopalicious (by Ale Asylum) is my favorite IPA. Hoppy, fruity and just generally awesome. This is the beer I drink at any bar that has it. And it's what I tend to drink when I'm going to be out for awhile, since it tends to be heavier and I can't drink as much (so I make each beer last longer). lol

Plus:

Tsingtao is the beer Sweetie and I like with Chinese food.

We drink Asahi or Hitachino with Japanese food.

Bottles or cans?

Draft if they have it. Bottle if not. Can in the shower. (Safety first!)

What beer(s) do you dislike?

This is not a problem I have. In fact, I like beer so much, I get POd if anybody puts a piece of fruit on a beer they expect me to drink. disbelief

Have you ever had a non-alcoholic brew?

What would be the point of that? wacky

There's something unique about lambic beers, no?

Coors Light isn't too bad when the selection is limited.

It isn't that difficult to keep the beer out of the spray. I set the beer outside the shower while I'm actually getting clean, then pick it up and drink it while I just chill and let the water run over me.

It's wonderful if you've been doing something strenuous - yard work, playing golf on a hot day, loading into a theater.

Mmmm! I just got home after having a couple of Miller Lites (not my favorite).

WHAT is your favorite beer? I love Guinness and have a soft spot for a good Dunkel (Franziskaner is good).

What beer(s) do you drink the MOST? I probably order Miller Lite the most, when the weather is warm, and I'm in a normal bar and not trying to seem pretentious. smile If I'm at a specialty beer place, I'll ask the bartender to recommend a stout or brown ale.

Bottles or cans? Guinness draft, bottles otherwise, but I'm not finicky.

What beer(s) do you dislike? I'm not a fan of IPA.

Have you ever had a non-alcoholic brew? No.
