What are you doing for New Years eve?

I haven't made up my mind yet.

It's always a little stressy. It supposed to be an all wonderfull and fantastic evening with all your friends.

When I was young, nobody had kids, and everybody was still going out, it always was a blast.

Now, it's different.

How do you like new years eve?

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Trying to avoid drunk drivers.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I used to love to do music gigs on NYE...because honey, that money was a bit of alright dancing jig

But I've since traded the bright lights of the city on New Year's for camping at someone else's house in the country with my dude, usually in groups of 4-6 (not including the kid count) for an overnighter. We can eat and drink in peace, not worrying about driving home in the madness afterwards. Traditionally on New Year's people have Raclette for dinner here:

Buy this raclette grill with pancake top

After that maybe there's just enjoying each other's company, reflecting on the year as it passes, making a little music,---having a short prayer/worship time in the minutes before the the new year, then... set off a few fireworks (they do it up really big here in Germany, the whole country has a lit up night sky for like, an hour, no kidding! ) My mother called me from the States once while I was outside watching and she freaked out because she thought it sounded like war, poor thing lol

As the fireworks are going off ,usually you meet some neighbors in the street as everyone brings out glasses and offers each other sekt & champagne, trading formalities and wishing another best luck for the coming year. Then we go back inside, pig out some more on leftovers and sweets, maybe watch a film or concert to get drowsy, then go to bed in whatever guest room is set up. smile

No plans yet.

Considering inviting friends over to my bf's and my place. We moved in together a week ago and we've been doing work on the house (painting, having new hardwood floors put in) and it might be the perfect time to celebrate our new home together.

Or we'll go out as we often do. smile

With my kids, watching fireworks in the Common for 1st Night festivities... if it isn't too cold and my son's asthma isn't acting up.

If not, we will dance wearing LED lights and glow gear and eat treats until midnight then pass out with the TV on bellies full.

party

I'm married to a rockstar so that means he is always booked out that night

I have never spent NYE with my SOB hmmm

Anyways. Me and the kids had a funny time last year going out to a bridge from where you can see the city and the fireworks. Might do that again after a movie or 2. Actually now I'm looking forwards to it mushy

I'm the mistake you wanna make

Dunno yet! I'm hoping one of my best friends throws a party (they usually do, but we missed last year as my youngest was really ill, so I spent all night hovering over her, wondering whether to take her to the hospital). I know that one year I'll have to take my turn and invite everyone over to my house, but I work from home, so when I get the chance to go out and celebrate I'm gonna take it!
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

C'mon and dance while you, while you still have your cherry babe, cherry babe..

I like doing New Years's in the house...all the hassle of being out with drunk, crazy people---keep it lol .

I want to end my New Year's just like that...my gut full of sweets and yummy stuff with the tv trying to keep my eyes open after being silly and acting a fool...in the privacy of a house lol

I'm single, so staying in with my cat will probably just sadden me.

Maybe I'll go to a small club, Paradiso, in Amsterdam. There will be a party and I'l just have a ball.

I found out the folks who do hipshaker and hot pants (old school soul & funk dance nights here in MPLS) are combining efforts for a new years party at one of my favorite spaces, the Kitty Cat Klub.

Guess my bf and I will invite folks over for nibblies and cocktails on the early side and we'll head on out to dance.
