Jerry Sandusky found guilty on 45 of 48 counts of child sexual abuse.

Just breaking: a verdict has been reached in the trial of former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. He has been found guilty on 45 of 48 counts of child sexual abuse and has been remanded to the custody of Pennsylvania authorities to be sent immediately to prison to await sentencing, which is likely to be for the remainder of his life and beyond.

Of course it will be "beyond". But in reality that means nothing. He's not young - he'll die in prison. Seems fair to me.

Great job by the prosecution from what I've read and seen on TV. They didn't leave much doubt that he'd be found guilty on some counts. 45 out of 48 is pretty incredible.

Indeed. They did a great job with such a terrible case-hope the victims have some closure now.

I find some peace with this verdict, as I never revealed my abuser, only because he was a close/immediate family member. Now I wish I did, because I'll never know who else was scarred by his perverted actions.

My childhood innocence was taken away by the one person that should have protected me. He died at 28 from natural causes. karma? We never discussed the abuse, but if he had lived, I certainly would have done that!! I kinda see God's plan in that scenario.

Burn in hell Sandusky..and say hello to (J.) pissed

I hope this sends a clear message to ALL sexual abusers out there to stop and gives confidence to those who are being abused and afraid to speak out!!

I understand the sentiment, but I don't see how it's possible. How is knowing he's going to jail, change any of what happened? Age, not the law, put an end to his crimes.

Nice to see him in jail where he belongs, but I don't know that it would be enough to move on if I hadn't already.

woot! I'm so glad these victims were heard and believed. So many stay silent for fear no one will believe or care. But sadly, it erases nothing for them. And for some of them the cycle of sexual abuse may continue.

Ugh, I just want to punch him in his big, dumb face. I hope this son of a bitch ends up in Pampers soon after his sentence starts. Maybe that makes me a horrible person but that is how I feel.

Well, he'll be raped to death in state prison, so, that may provide some consolation, I guess.

None. For me, I would just want them in a cell by themselves, for the rest of their life.

Well, I'm pretty sure he'll be in permanent solitary confinement. Our justic system doesn't condone murder. I think most of us agree that putting him in general population would lead to that conclusion. More than likely he'll live out the rest of his life as a lonely old man with noone and nothing to keep him company but the thoughts of all the shitty things he did to those kids.

Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky leaves the Centre County Courthouse after his conviction in his child sex abuse trial in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, June 22, 2012. (Reuters/Pat Little)

photo taken 22 June 2012

Sandusky faces a maximum sentence of 442 years in prison. According to NBC News' Michael Isikoff, Sandusky likely faces a minimum sentence of 60 years - at his age, effectively a life sentence.A sentencing hearing was expected 90 days from the date of conviction.

so i guess the sentence hearing will be around september 25th, 2012 eek

They got Dahmer they could get Sandusky. Since it's high profile, he will probably be killed.(I know one's a mass murderer and the other is a molester.)

I don't know why everyone is so sure he'll be raped and/or killed in prison. Legally, neither should be allowed to happen.
