THE CONVERSATION

You are invited to join the newest African American discussion forum on the web. It’s called THE CONVERSATION.

http://blaqueexperience2.proboards.com

I need people like YOU to join, start discussions, give your opinions, and basically breathe life into my brand new community.

On this site, you can discuss anything and everything that’s on your mind. From love to world events and everything in between.

Check it out when you have a free moment. It’s brand new, literally, so don’t let the lack of topics prevent you from joining. Let that be all the more reason you want to register and add your 2 cents!

I hope you decide to join and share your thoughts with everyone as this community begins to grow.

And lastly, please forward this link to everyone you know and ask them to join THE CONVERSATION.

Watch us grow!

Yep, what if you aren't African American?

Don't want to start a fundamental discussion here (again), and I certainly don't want to spoil your online community, but: I do understand the seeming "need" for a group of people who share almost the same problems and often even social backgrounds, but it makes me sad. I know it's "just an internet forum", but calling it an "African American" forum already contributes to your state of mind in a way that you are really feeling the need to seclude.

I haven't looked at the forum yet (and, apart from the org, I'm not a big fan of posting on internet forums), so I don't know wheter it would be appropriate to start a small discussion about this on there, but it's a topic I feel very sensitive about and a topic that makes me sad quite often.

I'M NOT 'AFRICAN AMERIKKKAN eek

i'm black

i guess if you aren't and you go there (scratchthat)

if i were to go on a site that was labled 'a white frame of mind'

i would save any conversation about how fucked up any

of the rhetoric said by them was, or whut i thought to

be bullshit. i would expect to hear dirogatory remarks about me

and my ilk (even if i didn't)

i guess i'm sayin, i don't think it's a BLACKS ONLY party

but if any are there as radical as i can be at times

do not hope to float a lot of bullshit biggrin

p.s.

but you don't have to worry about me

i can't even get registered. somethin

about not bein able to prove i'm human eek

i'm ethnicly BLACK by choice

not negro, not afrikkkan amerikkkan, not colored.

i don't look for all the other things i can or could be.

i'm black because i choose to be, and that's one of the great

prollums with society today, not reconizin BLACK

as a state of bein.

most folks aren't white,

but they're white none the less, you mark it on an application.

i write in BLACK if i choose to fill out an app. at all.

So, can I be black too? If yes, I understand the "choice" and "state of mind" part. If not, it's race-related and therefore creates spheres on society (which is something I don't like).

to actually be black one would have to feel the pressures of

livin in a society that claims no ill will toward you but still

practices inequality and seperatism every day.

let me see,

like bein irish in a british community,

you can change how you talk, you can act like

times have changed for you, but at the end of the day

you're still irish. you have no reason to feel that

bein human is enogh because you'll be treated

(to the most part) like an irishman.

so, no, you cannot be black, but you can certainly

empathize with the plight of the black in the world today.

and weather or not you like that there are spheres

of race related issues, they are there, not about to be

gone at any time for generations as long as the inequality

lasts.

lol... look at the jetson's cartoon

mgm did a lot to bring their cartoons

up to date (look at the difference in the black lady of the house)

but the jetson's showed no possibility of blacks

bein a part of any 'ideal futures'

(it never bothered white kids)

so i'm not bein evil, this is as rational

as i can put it to you. some one more eloquent

may put it to you differently, or softsoap it for you.

i dislike seperation

however i dislike people who pretend

it doesn't exist... it seems shady.

I see... Well, it's obvious that seperation exists and that many people (on both sides, but mainly "white" people) contribute to this seperation and hate between those "spheres". I just think that people choose whether to be part of it or not. I choose not to be part of it and will do everything do fight race-related spheres. I will not fight for either "black" or "white", I will fight for humanity and justice. I just have a problem with the fact that many surpressed "black" people seem to have found a reason to blame all "white" people and to not trust that there may be someone like me, who doesn't see colour (even if others do), but simply people.

That's where it touches upon the original subject matter: yes, spheres do exist and yes, they were originally created by "white" people, so, logically, the peoples who were discriminiated against have every right and reason to unify and stand up together. It's just important not to fight other "races", but to fight injustice and the actual "idea" of race. Because, just to give an extreme example, it would be just as injust to blame me for all the horrible things other people have done, just because they might have had the same skin colour as me (not that this ever happened; but I have seen many people who call themselves "black" do just that - blame all the people they call "white" and feel self-justice in killing their kids, just like it happens the other way round).

thus my reason for pointin out the trials and tribulations of bein

irish (you'ld be hard pressed to find a black irishman lol)

and it's many others who have such issues, but in most cases

the seperation is dark/light by nature even among whites.

the lower class among white are treated and talked about

as if they were black, no matter where in the world they are.

WHY IS THAT, and how hard is that to see?

so if one wants to make religious divides, social divides,

class divides, or whutever, one can see that the color sphere

creeps in to seperate those classes even more lol IT'S REDICULOUS!!!

the majority of my best friends are white, not all but most.

and we often have these same discussions about these same topics.

truth justice and freedom to live life is the ideal in life,

yet some feel that they can't have that without someone else doin

without...
