I assumed that Nathan's was well-known.

I'm referring to the place that made the hot dog a household name in America...Nathan's Famous of Coney Island, NY.

But if we're sticking with international brands...I would pick McDonald's.

I go to Wendy's, Burger King, Taco Bell, and KFC more often than the golden arches.

I simply cannot stomach their burgers. When I have to go, I get chicken.

My favorite out of those is Wendy's. Their burgers taste the best to me.

foodnow

I have never heard of it either... We have ZERO hotdog places here in Nebraska... You can get footlongs at Sonic tho...

omfg

See now, my world is shattered.

I can understand Nathan's being an American thing...but if YOU have never heard of it...then DAMN.

How's about this; you send me a Runza, I'll send you a Nathan's dog?

I hate Xaxby's because the first and only time I ate there I got sick off their onion petal things, actually, it was the orange sauce you dip them in- Y-uck! Made me so sick!

Burger King is hands down the best! I could eat their bacon cheeseburgers all day every day!

Fast food was the best BEFORE the 1990's.

1. KFC was still called Kentucky Fried Chicken and it had a reputation of being the anti-fast food clain.

2. Godfather's Pizza was better than Domino's & Pizza Hut. Papa John's & Marco's were only regional at the time.

3. McDonald's french fries tasted better when it was fried in beef shortening, the Big Mac was bigger, the apple pies were fried instead of baked, and the hotcakes were cooked on a shove instead of pre-cooked to microwaved.

4. Popeye's spicy chicken was THE only flavor at the time.

5. If you lived in Lousiana, USA and you wanted to buy a sandwich, there were no Subway's OR Firehouse Subs back then. You have to go to the local deil and order a big massive Po-Boy sandwich! wink

Its not, never heard of it. Here a hot dog is a battered sausage dipped in tomato sauce. What you have is something we call an American hot dogm and they are not that popular here.

But hey BIG UPS for explaining to us and your explanation, they actually look quite nice and are world famous in New York

cool cool cool cool

A battered sausage dipped in tomato sauce whofarted Where are you located?

Nathan's is indeed one of the most famous Hot Dog joints in the USA and a pop culture icon...and no I'm not from New York. lol

New Zealand, every fish and chip shop has them. You take your sausage or saveloy dip it in batter and deep fry it, the sausage should be impaled on a popsicle stick like a corn dog.

The fact you don't know this scares me. They are also wildly popular in Australia.

Once cooked you may dip the sausage in tomato sauce (Thats Kiwi for ketchup, we also say soft drink or fizzy for a soda, refrigerator or fridge for an icebox (Which is an eski or a chillybin here), and we call dumpsters mini skips and a trash can, a garbage bin or rubbish bin. We eat a fatter version of French fries called hot chips and here in New Zealand, you buy them in scoops.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

The only fast food place I really like is Taco Bell.

I don't eat burgers or chicken, so I don't like most other ones. The worst? uh.. Burger King, I guess.

Maybe I should try Google. Where are they?

What is a Chipotle

Mexican food...big on the west coast.

Other West Coast bomb-ass establishments:

1. FATBURGER

The BEST. Most are in LA and there's only one down here in San Diego, a five minute walk from the beach...I'm not sure if there are any elsewhere (I think Magic Johnson is part owner). I used to work right next door to the one in San Diego...it was sooo hard not to eat that shit everyday! But they have a veggie burger that is just ridiculously good...you cannot tell the difference between it and the real burgers. And the fries...HUGE!

2. Taco Shops

Only in San Diego, LA and Arizona. Not a Mexican restaurant...a TACO SHOP. Most are named Roberto's...Royberto's, Hilberto's...Alberto's...always a "berto", but there's also a few "Santana's" and "Santino's". The absolute best food to have after a night of partying...all are open 24 hours and all are straight old school...a lot of times I've seen the cashier calculating my order on a calculator! Oh...it's the bomb! Five rolled tacos with sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and guacamole for $2.99. A FAT ASS carne asada burrito (with all the fixins mentioned above) for $3.99. A "California Burrito"...basically the same as a carne asada, only stuffed with french fries. Carne asada chips (or fries)...the absolute BIGGEST plate of nachos (or fries) drenched with all of the fixins. The shit is seriously addictive. FAT and GREASY as fuck, but SOOOO good. If you are ever in San Diego, YOU MUST TRY IT AT LEAST ONCE. Easy to find, too...there' pretty much one on damned near every street corner in the ghetto (the "nice" neighborhoods have them too, but the good ones are all in the hood).

And Chipotle is NOT a taco shop...but they're good. nod

If I can count Denny's as fast food, that would be my top pick. Nothing beats a Lumberjack Slam when you're hungry in the middle of the night. The worst would be Taco Bell. They're soggy, flavourless and just contains filler (i.e. barely any meat or chicken etc).

Generally the idea is that you have only one, and they are popular as they are cheap (If anyone charges you more than $2, you are either a boutique fish and chip shop in a posh suburb or you are being ripped off). It sounds bad, but servings are much smaller here and most fish and chip shops abide by Health Department Regulations of maximum scoop size (300 grams) - Not doing ounces and shit, this country hasn't had that measurement system since 1976. And most battered items are cooked in vegeatble oil. You may get some real ghetto places that still use tallow (Like Burger King) and Palm Oil (Most Island takeaway bars and KFC) which to me is off the ghetto meter.

I could imagine in America you would probably eat like 6 of them covered in sugar and artificial colours.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
