Whats the best and worst fast food chains you have ever been to in your life overall. You can choose any but I prefer the American orgers to try and choose something known around most of the world. Ernsbergers burgers in downtown Akron Ohio is hardly going to be known to us in New Zealand and the continent. (When I last looked there was a quiz on sporcle that had a list of over 150 different chains in the USA alone!!!)

My choice has to be KFC. Its really ghetto here, theres always huge waits at drive thrus, incompetent staff who never listen to you properly and get your order wrong (English is poor too due to migrant employees that work here for minimum wage and less, its not racist its truw, the chain that riuns KFC (Restaurant Brands a division of Yum brands USA) has a policy of lifting its pay rates with the minimum wage and even the managers get like 50 cents above the minimum wage. They also employ 15 -19 years olds as they get Youth rates, and many Kiwi employees are fired before their 20th birthday as they think migrants work harder and keep them).

The chicken is usually drowned in grease and is often off scrawny immature birds (We call them Kentucky Fried Sparrow) and their ethics is poor, birds are battery farmed and killed at 46 days of age. I haven't eaten there for about 2 years. They are very expensive too, figure $14 for an upsized quarter pack and $30 for a 10 piece pack with 4 sides, they don't deliver either. KFC and Pizaa Hutt are haemorraging money here.

Best is Wendys, there are some really bad choices like a chili shake but their burgers are excellent and the fries much nicer. Burger king is good and McDonalds satifactory as their food is healthier now than before, but like KFC low quality staff and long waits.

worst is KFC....no explanation required.....best USED to be wendys till they changed their meat...smaller & way different, at least here in ontario. FU%$ you wendy!

Now that just leaves BK....not great but tied with A&W. No wonder i prefer to eat at home.

I haven't been to KFC in a long while, I went mostly to Church's for the Fanta strawberry soda but that's been a while, and Popeye's for the pecan pie but that's been a while too. Cost too much for some chicken and I can't accept that mentally. I LOVE BKs tendercrisp but that all I go there for now maybe once every couple of months. When I think burger I normally end up at Jack in the Box don't know if I consider it the best, it's the variety, burger, fish n chips, grilled deli sandwich (got hooked on that for a while), use to like the asian chicken salad but they changed it(blech), and the teriakyi bowl but they changed that too(ick). Somehow, I never became a big fan of McDs, I usually avoid it, I think I'm calling myself rebelling, maybe becaause when i think of it it doesn't seem appetizing. There are just too many fast food restaurants, I'm hardly fascinated by them anymore to even make the effort.

Worst for me would have to be Nathan's. Let me explain why;

Their signature dish is the infamous Nathan's hot dog. BUT they don't offer the version with the skin that is a "true" hot dog. Then you order a combo of 2 dogs, fries and a coke and you pay as much as if you were getting a double-bacon cheeseburger at BK or McDonalds. Hot dogs cost less than burgers. Why so expensive?

PLUS...most Nathan's offer "Arthur Treacher's" fish-&-chips and "Kenny Rogers Roasters" chicken to supplement their menu. They fry everything in the same damned oil, and the chicken isn't roasted the way the old stand-alone Kenny Rogers restaurants used to do them.

AND the fries are "natural". I don't like them that way.

So even though it's not as bad as say, White Castle, the LET-DOWN that I experience going there makes them my least-favorite.

However, they do have an Arcade, so I go there all the time with the kids.

The best, right now, is Smashburger. New chain. Only 1 restaurant on Long Island so far (and I fortunately work nearby).

I've bragged about their burgers ad-nauseum in the "burgers" thread.

McDonald's is the worst......

Churches big ass fucking chicken is the worst. Jack making shit in the box is second and the best is White Castles I'd kill for a White Castle in Texas

Subway is the best by far...

I am tempted to say McDonalds is both the best and the worst.

It's the best because I have massive cravings for their food, and the fries are pretty damn good, but it's the worst because, well, it's McDonalds.

I assumed that Nathan's was well-known.

I'm referring to the place that made the hot dog a household name in America...Nathan's Famous of Coney Island, NY.

But if we're sticking with international brands...I would pick McDonald's.

I go to Wendy's, Burger King, Taco Bell, and KFC more often than the golden arches.

I simply cannot stomach their burgers. When I have to go, I get chicken.

My favorite out of those is Wendy's. Their burgers taste the best to me.

Problem is there aren't that many chains that are coast to coast. Myself I still crave Pioneer chicken but its now only in LA. Jollibee's is pretty good but I only know they're famous in the Phillipines not sure about other places in this country. Never been to Red Robin but they seem to be getting pretty popular here.

Its not, never heard of it. Here a hot dog is a battered sausage dipped in tomato sauce. What you have is something we call an American hot dogm and they are not that popular here.

BEST: Probably Fuddruckers, I really liked their freshly made burgers the last time I visited. But I guess I ´d really like In-N-Out Burger and Fatburger or Five Guys, too. But I haven´t tried them yet.

WORST: White Castle! I just DON´T understand their appeal AT ALL! Why do people love White Castle so much? They are not really cheap, on the contrary, I find their producst overpriced, their "restaurants" ( well, I´m using the word restaurant generously here) look depressing and cold, the "food" ( again, generous use of the term "food" here ) is bland and looks sweaty,and they use waaaaay too much cardboard and styrofoam. Why do people need so much stuff for that kind of junk food? Don´t they care about the environment?

Thing is, every time I visit the USA, I just HAVE to go to White Castle just to see what all the fuss is about and to see whether I still dislike their burgers. I can eat them, and yes, they do taste unique(in a bad way though) but I just don´t understand why they are so popular.

And I can´t stand KFC, Burger King ( used to like them ages ago), or McDonald´s but if I have to eat a burger from a chain, I´d rather eat a simple McDouble with a diet coke, no fries. At least I know what I´m getting there.

Depends on what you order. And depends also on the country where you eat. Some have very high hygiene standards, some not. Some countries ban meat that contains hormones, some don´t . Some use pink slime and blood, some don´t.

But yes, in essence you are right. I always make sure not to eat or drink too much sugar and I never order fries, and when I do go to McDonald´s and there is no other option, then I mostly eat a cheeseburger or two, or maybe two McDoubles. That´s roughly 26 grams of protein, which is ok before a workout or after, but of course not really healthy due to the fat content but eating a Big Mac is much worse because of the fat and sugars.

I would love a Burger King Whopper, McDonalds French Fries, and a Blizzard from Dairy Queen. And yes I will go to all 3 to get what I want. Although, I don't eat fast food that often.

I have never heard of it either... We have ZERO hotdog places here in Nebraska... You can get footlongs at Sonic tho...

Your not alone....I can eat it about every other day....I got $150 in gift cards last Xmas cuz I go there THAT much.

$150 so that is what 3 or 4 burritos!? that place is so good! and I love their model. As much local, fresh, and natural ingredients as they can get.

it comes at a price but it is worth it.

For me the best fast food chain is Arby's. Love their roast beef sandwiches and curly fries.

The worst: KFC The chicken is awful and greasy. Haven't eaten anything there in years and don't plan on ever doing so.

I also like Captain D's chain too, I love their Crab Dinner. I just realized I haven't been to Burger King a couple of years as well.
