Alphabetizing "the" in you mp3 collection? What do you all typically do when alphabetizing your album collections on your computer when it comes to bands that have "The" in the title?
The computer will put all the "The's" together alphabetically, which can be confusing. For example:
Santana The Beatles Tin Machine
Or would you change it to:
Beatles, The Santana Tin Machine
*Note: this is for the obsessively organized people.

My itunes puts The Beatles under "B" and The Clash under "C" My Legacy

I keep it as:
The Beatles
I used to change tags to Beatles, The a long time ago, but then I ran into issues with bands like:
A Tribe Called Quest The Band
etc.
At this point, most music libraries have a search feature that allows me to type "beatles" or "tribe".
Another option I've seen use the different tag labels like Artist: The Beatles Performer/Composer: Beatles, The

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

I just put the "the" in front of it. My computer somehow ignores the word "the" and places the band in alphabetical order as it should be and I'm glad it does. Andy is a four letter word.
