'Fresh Prince' Star RIPS WILL SMITH I'll Never Reunite w/ that 'A**hole'

'Fresh Prince' Star RIPS WILL SMITH I'll Never Reunite w/ that 'A**hole'

Aunt Viv on Fresh Prince of Bel Air
The woman who played the original Aunt Viv on "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" says there's a damn good reason she wasn't at a recent reunion dinner with the rest of the Banks family -- she HATES Will Smith.

15 years after the show went off the air ... Janet Hubert tells TMZ she's still upset with the way she was fired from the show ... and blames the whole thing on Smith himself.

"There will never be a reunion ... as I will never do anything with an a**hole like Will Smith," Hubert said.

She adds, "He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up. This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn't know the word."

Hubert has said in the past she believes Smith is to blame for her departure in the middle of the show's run -- claiming he turned on her because she wouldn't kiss his butt.

But Smith refuted the claims after Hubert left the show in 1993 -- telling an Atlanta radio station Hubert simply had a bad attitude which played a major role in her demise.

Smith told the radio station, "[Hubert] said once, 'I've been in the business for 10 years and this snotty-nosed punk comes along and gets a show.' No matter what, to her I'm just the AntiChrist."

We called Smith for comment -- so far, no response.

Yeah she's got a real chip on her shoulder and has refused to let anyone knock it off. Sad shit.

Smith can be egotistical and childish, we all know that, but c'mon he was THE star of the show, that lady sounds bitter and jealous

too much proud can turn you into a grumpy bitch

Let me guess who it is without even reading the OP, it's the chick who played Vivian #1.

She's still pressed after all these years, it's sad in a pathetic way.

I love that woman, ergo, she could raise verbal madhouse hell if she wants to mushy

That being said, I WISH she reconsiders.

The fact that the other cast members seem to get along all right with Will and don't seem to have anything bad to say about him tells mw a lot.

I could tell when TVOne did a "Life After" show on her that she was still very bitter towards Will and how her whole "firing" situation went down. She admitted herself on that very show that at one point she stopped talking to the WHOLE cast and only interacted with them when she was saying her lines...I mean to me she sort of admitted how she had a bad attitude for other reasons but somehow she makes it seem like Will Smith went to the powers who be and got her fired...which I'm not sure is what really happened. But on the otherhand I can see how she was angered when Will and Jazzy Jeff were on a radio show or something right after she was fired and was laughing about it. At the same time, c'mon now, it's been over 20 years now. Time to let that shit go. Can't nobody go back and change what happened, so why still steam over it? shrug

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yeah I kind of feel this way too. I'm sure the cast enjoyed each other at the reunion without her "bad attitude". I'm sure she wasn't missed.

Agreed. I used to prefer her over Vivian #2 but I wouldn't hang out with her ass either...

Think about it from where she's sitting,,,,

A black actress(the MOST undesirable employee that Hollywood ever had to "deal" with, and still gets looked at with obvious contempt) in a primetime TV show, hired by somebody who was courageous enough to ignore the "brown paper bag" unspoken rule(OH YES! I'm taking it there), as a CO-LEAD, in one of the most famous TV shows at that time, probably THEE ONLY time she was ever exposed to mainstream status which could've opened doors for her.

And what happens? She got fired for speaking out when a bunch of young shit balls didn't show professionism, while the rest of the cast had to suck it up because they didn't wanna mess with their paper, understandably.

Bitter? Imagine being fired from one of the most prosperous jobs you've scrapped a lifetime to earn, ONLY to get the pink slips because a bunch of nitwits - who, lets face it, compared to her are outsiders to the profession - didn't give a damn enough to show respect to the work environment. Lets see how easy it is to tell your own ass to "get over it".

Ya'll are passing judgement for the hell of it.

Yeah. TV One had a "Life After" special on her and she dissed Will left to right, claiming that he was an "egotistical bastard."

No one else on the show seem to have a problem. And the show went on to become a great success. After the show was over cast members would unite over the year for projects. Some sort of bond was formed.

I understand that she comes form a professional dance background. But the show was a comedic outlet for young folks. It couldn't have been THAT unprofessional because time is money. And NBC would have dropped the show if they were fucking up that much. Maybe it wasn't the environment for her.

And on top of that on Aunt Viv's "Life After" on TV One she wasn't exactly clear as to what went down. I was was watching waiting for her to dish some dirt. I left that episode feeling disappointed.

It was the same scenario in Good Times, but unlike Viv's, the producers had the good taste of bringing back Esther Rolle.

All I know from their issue, is what everybody else knows, and like I said in my earlier post, none of the cast display any grievances regarding Will & Jazz for whatever reasons - except Viv who signed her own resignation later for speaking out.

In the DVD featurette though, they all seem to enjoy working with her, esp James Avery who had a great chemistry with her and lost it when she split.
