Number one, what's going on with Kobe is something that can happen to anybody. Just because he makes more than the average "Joe", does not immune him from being a fuck up. Secondly, when your past indescrestions have made the headlines, due to you not being careful, it shows that it's all about "Kobe" and nobody else. All of this has been public knowledge for years. There are people who look up to this man, especially kids, (let's not forget HIS OWN kids.) My dad told me something years ago, "A bear, never shit's where he eats". I guess, Kobe has run out of places, to eat.

?

'A bear (or anyone) never shits where they eat.'

I've heard that expression but it refers to not getting into affairs with coworkers or close relations.

How would Kobe have run out of places to eat? Vanessa isn't a cheerleader or someone who works for or with the Lakers.

I think him and Vanessa met while he was working on that piece of shit "album" he recorded. She was either a back up dancer in some unreleased video or a back up singer on one of his god awful songs thankfully never released. Technically speaking, he was shitting where he was eating.

Lakers star Kobe Bryant's divorce has been big news in Los Angeles. After the initial article in Saturday's LATExtra section that reported Vanessa Bryant's court filing, an article Tuesday looked into details of a possible settlement. The couple reportedly had no prenuptial agreement, so, the article said, Vanessa Bryant is probably entitled to at least $75 million, half of her husband’s net worth.

The article characterized this as a "windfall" for Vanessa Bryant.

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP)

Kobe Bryant's wife, Vanessa, filed for divorce on Friday from the Los Angeles Lakers star, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

Celebrity couples often don't have a Hollywood ending. Check out sports couples who split up.

Vanessa Bryant filed papers in Orange County Superior Court in Santa Ana. TMZ reported that according to court documents filed in the Orange County Superior Court, Vanessa Bryant will be represented by high-profile divorce lawyer Laura Wasser — who has previously worked for Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie and Kim Kardashian — and attorney Samantha Klein.

A representative for the couple released a statement saying, ''The Bryants have resolved all issues incident to their divorce privately with the assistance of counsel and a Judgment dissolving their marital status will be entered in 2012.''

The couple have been married for 10 1/2 years and have two daughters, ages 8 and 5.

In the statement, the Bryants ''ask that in the interest of our young children and in light of the upcoming holiday season the public respect our privacy during this difficult time.''

The filing of the documents comes more than eight years after Vanessa Bryant stuck by the Lakers star after he was accused of sexually assaulting a Colorado woman.

The Colorado case was dropped when Bryant's accuser refused to testify.

Unidentified sources told TMZ that Vanessa Bryant was filing for divorce because she believed her husband had been unfaithful

dont marry a celebrity then if you can't accept the fact that he is famous. I dont understand how people expect a guy or girl to be faithful like that. Just make it an open relationship and everything will be fine...but no one wants to do that.

I just do not get this..it's common sense.

You make it sound like, because one is famous then that means they are going to cheat...That's not the case in every situation. There are allot of famous couples who have been married for a long time with cheating. In this case however, Kobe was caught cheating once, so she had a reason to believe that he would do it again.

i was always amazed with "sports" figures ... and how they constantly cheat .

it is so rapant .... even with the lil sports figures ....

in my area , there are minor league hockey players and the way i saw this - was i got to know a few referees from minor league hockey ... and went out with them to bars etc ... well .... i was amazed how even the refs had gals at every stadium/arena ... just waiting for them ... and with the players it was even worse !

it was kinda an obsession of mine the first time i realized the enormous issues ... think about it ... a player has a gal in every city ... who will wait for him after the game .....

wow . no wonder there are some nice diseases out there .

Temptation is high if you're attractive. You don't have to be popular or an athlete.

You don't even have to be attractive, just appealing to someone who crosses your path, or hopes to.

If you're in a relationship it only takes one temptation to potentially make you a cheater.

Vanessa Bryant gets three homes, $75 million in Kobe Bryant divorce settlement: report

Last Updated: 12:49 PM, January 20, 2012

Posted: 12:48 PM, January 20, 2012

Vanessa Bryant appears to have made a three-point shot in her divorce settlement with Kobe Bryant, reports say. Allegedly, Vanessa will receive $75 million, as well all three of the couple's properties in Newport Beach, Calif.

Sources with knowledge of the settlement tell TMZ that Vanessa will get the mansion the couple lived in, as well as the new home they had been building for the past two years. She was also reportedly granted a third property, where her mother has been living.

According to sources, Vanessa Bryant is getting $75 million and all three homes in her divorce from Kobe Bryant.

In addition, Vanessa will supposedly receive half of the couple's total assets, estimated at $150 million.

It's unclear when exactly Vanessa filed for divorce from her husband of 11 years, but Kobe Bryant signed the paperwork on Dec. 1. A joint statement from the former couple, who have two children together, read, "The Bryants have resolved all issues incident to their divorce privately with the assistance of counsel and a judgment dissolving their marital status will be entered in 2012."

Vanessa famously stood by her man in 2003 when 19-year-old hotel employee Katelyn Faber accused Kobe of sexual assault. While the criminal case against Kobe was eventually dropped, and a civil case was settled out of court, Kobe did admit to having sex with Faber.

Reports say that, more recently, Vanessa finally became fed up with her husband's alleged philandering.

"She’s been dealing with these incidents for a long time and has been a faithful wife, but she’s finally had enough," a source told TMZ.

The Bryants reportedly had no prenuptial agreement. Vanessa is being represented in the divorce proceedings by Laura Wasser and Samantha Klein, whose clients include Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Maria Shriver and Kim Kardashian.

I read in some gossip forums that the reason Kobe married her without a prenup was because her parents threatened legal action if he did not marry her, and marry her without a prenup.

It was rumored that although Kobe himself was in his mid 20s, she was still in high school and underage.

Who knows, but that would make sense of marrying without a prenup.

I understand that it wasn't wise. I was just repeating (okay gossiping redface) about the fact that Kobe did not WANT to marry without prenup.... his hand was forced. It seems like he was set up. Some young Lolita gets his attention, he goes for it... and then the parents strong arm him to marrying the girl WITHOUT a prenup or face the law. And then the girl waits patiently for the 10 years, and then walks off with half of his fortune... daughter, and parents and the whole damn family is set for life. Is it fair? who knows. Is it fair that NBA players makes millions to PLAY ball, and US soldiers who risk their lives make less than $40,000?

I guess mob tactics work for some, but not all to get someone to marry them lol My opinion is that he should have married the woman he had a relationship with for five years. Seventy-five million dollars more in his pocket, right now lol Is life fair? Who said it is, but what can you do shrug

nod

Kobe should've taken his chances with the threat of statutory rape... I think he would have done okay... maybe some community service etc. I don't think he was well advised.

Also I read that the girl he was with for 5 years (girlfriend prior to going into NBA) is the reason his family was so much against his marriage. This home girlfriend was friends of the family and had been part of the family for years. They didn't go to the wedding out of respect for someone they considered family.

I agree that Kobe was not well advised, and no one seemed to have his best interest, but his family and ex-girlfriend. I wonder now does he sit back, and think about this. I know it's not going to change anything, but I cannot cease to wonder.
