Blonde or brunette?

I'm going nuts here. I went blonde because it's so much easier to maintain...but I'm starting to really hate it. I think it's washing me out and aging me (even more sad ).

Blonde?

Or brunette?

I can't see the pics but I've seen both before and you are a sultry sexy brunette dripping with hotness.

That should about cover it.

I know it's probably a boring answer but I vote for whatever colour is your natural one. Dyed always looks dyed.

Brunette. You look great with either color, but as a brunette, you look way sexier and hotter.

your face looks so much prettier and softer in brunette... I think the current shade of blond does wash you out a bit... I dont think it makes you look old, but i can see your features better in brunette...

Dirty blonde with white....yeah, no.

That's basically a description of my hair. lol

I say embrace it. Going natural shows self-confidence. Mature women with dyed hair look a bit like they're trying desperately to relive their teens, in my opinion.

I am not trying to relive my teens, I am just trying to look my age. I'm not 60.

I do totally disagree that all dyed hair looks dyed. It depends on the colour.

I never thought blonde worked for you. It never looked natural, IMO. Brunette does, though.

But I do understand how going blonde looks like I am trying too hard and i don't want to look desperate.

That's not the case, it's just closer to my naturally (changing) white hair.

Had you experimented with being a redhead before?

Agreed.

I will say, I’m living the best of both worlds. My stylist is using semi-permanent colors on me and when we first color it it’s quite dramatic, but it slowly fades to a more natural looking color and within a couple of months it’s back to the color it is underneath.

It also depends on your skin tone. I think you and I are both lucky enough to have just about any color look “natural” on us.

Oh yes....a couple of years ago. It won't stay red, just fades so I gave up.

But this is what's natural for our age though! Most of my friends have a bit of grey or white here and there. It's not weird or bad. At least you don't have to worry about bald spots like us men.

I do think most dyed hair looks dyed. There's something about how it doesn't quite rhyme with the colours of the complexion and eyes, but also it's too perfectly in just one colour. Real hair usually shifts a little bit here and there, and it's hard to simulate that by adding streaks.

Yes, I have been told that I can pull off everything - except black. What I really want to do is use a semi over it so if I tire of it I can let it fade out....but not so sure that will work for me since my grey hair is actually white and semis do not cover white well.

My hair is always multi-tonal because of the white hair. It does not go a flat colour...no matter hard I would try.

I have been going white since I was 21.

White a.k.a. platinum blonde. smile

I know what you're saying though. It's no fun to feel like signs of age are popping up too early. I've been going to the gym twice a week this fall to keep the belly fat away (it's working!) and as recently as a few days ago I was reading up on a new anti-hair loss product. I don't need it yet, but if I really start to look bald it's not out of the question that I'd try it.

I do admire people who don't do anything beyond regular body-maintenance though (shaving, moisturizing etc), and I honestly think they look better than people with artificial stuff (dye, wigs, tucks, transplants, lifts etc).
