i was a girl when they were big, and if memory serves, it was this tape that turned the tables on them professionally. i never knew if it actually existed or if it was an urban legend, but all of a sudden this attractive and clean cut couple became the butt of jokes (no pun intended) and titillating disgust. back in the 80s, you couldn't have a porn tape and be thought of as 'respectatble'. there is no way that the kennedys would have been able to parlay this into something profitable a la pam and tommy. i know they divorced not long after and i started hearing rumors that she had had a nervous breakdown. that's when she put on all that weight, and unless you read jet or ebony, you would hardly ever have remembered that she existed. she was pretty well known. i hope she's happy, but it's kinda sad to me.
