Good for her. I'm seeing it more and more in real life everyday. I wonder if that recent article in Essence is having a big effect in some people's mentality. I don't think I like the phrase 'playing in the snow' sound weird and disconnected, but it's a big, big hump to get over.

Morning---yeah everytime I get together with black female friends we discuss how we have a dearth of options to choose from and struggle with feeling left out, unappreciated and whatnot. Yes, as Toni said, I too have "played in the snow" (cringe) but you have to be sure to still play by the same rules of expecting to be respected by the guy.

I don't think there's a lot of black women who are really afraid anymore to date white men because we are fed up with being fed up, you know? Just wish I could wear a T-shirt that says, "Don't Stare at the White Guy, I'm Just Killing Time Until Ray-Ray Gets Outta the Pen"

A lot of black women are still, "Black man or no man"...but I gave up thinking that way around age 8 or so, LOL smile Far as I'm concerned, bring on the white guys!

Oh, no to the t-shirt I'm sure the guy you're with wouldn't appreciate being something to kill time with regardless, but yeah you got rights and needs like anybody else so if it comes down to the swirl (that's not any better) then it ain't really nobody else's business but your own.

One guy I thought was a "prospect" was a puerto rican guy but in spite of what is his obvious amazing academic intelligence, it seems like he has issues with holding a job, even though he's employed now as a part-time teacher. Long story but if a guy is always broke, is he a "prospect" or is he just playing you for a fool? I just cannot join this trend of giving a guy money for his time, that just puts a bad taste in my mouth.

She is going the rich white guy route now to help her finances. I don't like the way she dissed Terrence from 106 & Park the other day saying she wouldn't date him because he has no money. Bitch has the audacity smh to talk about someone else being broke.

Exposed as a gold digger.

It's a bit of a contradiction to me to hear someone talking about someone elses money when you don't have any of your own and didn't manage the money you use to have well. WTF. lol

Even so, the only men I hear throwing around the golddigger charge around are the men who are broke and couldn't play the game even if they wanted too.

Less tell the truth and shame the devil. lol

Look, if my ass was broke, I damn sure wouldn't date somebody broke. That's not gold digging, that's just common sense.

Lie if you want to, but rich or poor, nobody wants to date somebody broke, and that doesn't necessarily make them a gold digger.

Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Sorry....I'm taken, so save your sarcasm. Additionally,...I aint broke.

Money doesn't make one successful or happy, but not knowing what to do with it usually makes one quite fucked. When I was dating, I preferred not to date a broke man because it is often a glaring sign of his inability to manage his shit appropriately. He need not be rich, just not a broke ass who doesn't own shit.
