Charlie Sheen Close to Settling 'Two and a Half Men' Legal Case; Will Be Paid Millions

Charlie Sheen is close to settling his $100 million legal dispute with Warner Bros. and Two and a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre over Sheen's firing from the hit sitcom.

Sources confirm to THR that the studio is wrapping up a deal to end the litigation, which is being handled by a private arbitrator. Sheen and Warners and Lorre brought claims against each other stemming from Sheen's abrupt dismissal from the Lorre-produced sitcom in the wake of his bizarre behavior in the spring.

Under the terms of the settlement, sources tell THR that Sheen will get an undisclosed lump sum payment in the million of dollars. He in return will drop all of his legal claims.

A Warners spokesman said the studio has no comment. Word of the settlement first emerged from the LA Times, which puts the dollar amount at $25 million. Our sources say that pricetag is high, but since Warner Bros. has been withholding Sheen's profit participation on Men from all seasons (even the work he did before he went ballistic on the studio), the amount of the settlement will likely include the reinstatement of that revenue stream.

Sheen has been on a sort of mea culpa tour in recent weeks. He has done several interviews promoting tonight's Comedy Central roast in which he hsa backtracked on the incendiary comments he made about Warner Bros. and Lorre. Then on Sunday's Emmys telecast he appeared and offered an apology to his former cast and studio for his bahavior, wishing them the best on the rebooted Men with Ashton Kutcher in the lead role.

Saw him on Wendy Williams today. He seems like one big happy camper in a good place. I bet they are paying him handsomely in that dispute. Plus he has this new show coming. Even though it didn't look to good for him at first. He not doing bad since his scandalous exit. He is a very quick witted dude. #WINNING

Charlie Sheen
Settlement with Warner Bros.
North of $100 Million

0919_charlie_sheen_wb_ex_2

Charlie Sheen will immediately get $25 million in his settlement with Warner Bros. in his "Two and a Half Men" dispute -- but over time he'll get 5 times that amount ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected with the settlement tell TMZ ... Charlie will get the $25 mil in about two weeks and, as we reported, the sum represents the monies owed him for the work he already performed on the series and the profits that have already accrued.

But Charlie has shot around 180 episodes for the show, and in the next 7 - 10 years, the settlement will produce $100 million for the actor in syndication profits.

Not bad when you don't have to show up for work.#WINNING

If the supposed show Anger Management he is doing actually gets on air, that's more success than he deserves. Were TWO1/2 not such a revenue stream rerun wise, he'd be blackballed. As it looks now, he got what he wanted which was off the show and the money owed him, fortunate ass bastard

The contract must have really been a good one, especially on the back end and residual front.

As for his future prospects, the numbers don't lie. Sheen was the cornerstone of a killer franchise; 2&1/2 Men probably would have flamed out early with another actor. Why not take a chance on him again?

I give the show another 2 seasons before its done. Ashton is hot and all but he lacks the charisma of Sheen and he still wreaks of that "Punked" tv show.

They should have approached Seth Rogen.

Charlie was on Wendy yesterday and I GOTTA say I ain't never been a fan but I think he was sooooo gracious, self-effacing, and downright charming. He answered every question, and you know she went in, without hesitation and owned up to his behavior and apologized to everyone even Chuck Lorre. I think appearances like this and the Emmys and even his roast will restore him. But let's be honest dude ain't have much of a rep to tarnish. His reputation is all about bad behavior so ain't nuthin changed. I actually respect his ass more now after seeing his interview. thumbs up!

He already has another show lined up called Anger Management based on the movie with Jack Nicholson. He's playing the counselor. Already sounds funny and I can't STAND that 21/2 drivel. lol

Charlie would have been very good on How I Met Your Mother.

This dude is just up and down all the time. My guess is it directly correlates to high/sober/high/sober

I don't know why the public is so eager to forgive him again and again. I remember seeing video of him in court for beating his girlfriend, and his lawyer's closing was "this is a woman who did pornography, sometimes with three men!!!" lol

He can dry up and blow away as far as I am concerned.

Maybe the public sees in Charlie what they saw in Robert Downey Jr. They see the talent in spite of the drugs and alchohol and truly want him to do better so that he can continue to entertain. Honestly if RDJ can clean up then no doubt Charlie can too. I just hope he doesn't get married again because I think in a way, the women he chose to be with enabled him.

possibly, but I think RDJ is waaaaay more talented, personally.

Plus, when RDJ was messed up, he was going to sleep in random houses, not being a despicable human being (as far as I know). Charlie becomes like the devil when he's high.

But clearly some people do like Charlie and they want him to do well. I have actually met him and he seemed nice enough, but he was probably sober

Yeah, I was referring to the new show. I haven't watched a single episode of 21/2 but I can't see any reason other than Sheen to watch the show.

I have seen it because it comes on after Family Guy, and over the years I have probably watched about 3 episodes. I don't think I laughed a single time.

With its scantily clad women, references to Charlie's sluttiness and partying, it is kind of adult themed, and yet it is so run of the mill and obvious in its humor that only a kid could really enjoy it.

The kid is terrible, Charlie sleepwalks through the whole thing. Jon Cryer is the only one who seems to be decent at what he is doing.
