Syble R.I.P. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, haven't been on the org for a long time, but my lovely friend Siobhain 'Syble' on the org passed away a couple of weeks ago... she had terminal cancer and was given a prognosis for this Summer.
I first met Siobhain in Dublin at the non-Prince concert, along with Ruthie and others, we sat around a table in the pub and chatted and chatted about Prince and life. She was fighting breast cancer and had been through chemo, but was hoping for the best. She was then told the cancer had returned and was terminal, but didn't tell me as she didn't want to upset me!! That's the kind of person she was... I had spoken to Syble on the org before meeting her and was a bit scared of her, she was definitely outspoken and intelligent, but in person the most softly spoken, sweet, kind and gracious person. She laughed when I told her I was a bit scared of her!! She was very talented, wrote and had a book published just before she died, organised an art exhibition of her beautiful work in her home town, and was just a very creative and a wonderful soul.
Siobhain seemed to accept her fate with so much grace it was very humbling. I last saw her at Hop Farm and we watched Prince together, she was with her husband and three boys, two young teenagers and her little 8 year old... she was in a wheelchair but was just the same as always, such a gracious, wonderful person.
I hope you will join me in sending condolences to her lovely husband, and three beautiful boys left behind, it just seems very unfair that the best people are taken so young, with so much to give and enjoy in life.
Miss you Siobhain / Syble... xx

She obviously was super ill, but you wouldn't have known it apart from the wheelchair, still slim, still beautiful, she was a very attractive girl even with all she was obviously going through... thank you

Yes, so sad... couldn't believe how quickly it all obviously happened at the end... her husband called me, and I was desperately hoping it was so that she could come down to visit me, but it was the dreaded news...

People do not die for us immediately, but remain bathed in a sort of aura of life which bears no relation to true immortality but through which they continue to occupy our thoughts in the same way as when they were alive. It is as though they were traveling abroad. ~Marcel Proust

Such a familiar scenario. An orger friend of mine died just 1 1/2 years ago in a very similar way.
I offer my sympathies and condolences. Please be well, and may Siobhain rest in peace. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I'm sure her family miss her terribly.
Thank you for taking the time to say a nice thing about her here. It's always good to see that a random internet connection created such a nice friendship.
