no contest....futurama is off the hook

Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

I like both, but I do find Futurama much more clever and witty. They had me when they made a joke about the Heisenberg Effect.

Maybe I'm simple, but I have to go with The Simpsons on this one. Granted, Futurama may be smarter but the classic Simpsons episodes were more consistently funny to me. And although I love Bender and the Professor, The Simpsons have far more hilarious and well developed characters (Homer, Moe, Mr. Burns, The Comic Book Guy, Nelson...).

nod

Can't think of too many comedies that can top The Simpsons in its prime, but it's a long way short of that these days (or rather, for a good few years now).

I actually did forget about those two. You're right, they've certainly had their moments, especially Zapp. He kills me!

I find Futurama barely watchable, its just boring as, the only good character is bender whose a robot rip off of Homer. Much better is the Simpsons, recent shows have been up and down with the improved animation we have got flimsier plots, but the peisode I saw last night (We are probably a bit behind US) is the one where Moe rebrands his bar a gaybar and Smithers helps him. It was quite funny and believeable and the gays in the Simpsons are more realistic than the effeminate stereotypes from 1971 that u see on Family Guy. The bear dude who looked like Homer cracked me up. The Simpsons is always the best mostly not because of Bart (Who appeals to the juvenile audience) is Homer, he is legend, his bumbling underachieving and stupidity are what keep the show going, his trademark statements (Doh! and Hmmm (insert food here) ) are practically part of popular culture now. No matter how many times he nearly dies, betrays his wife, gets in prison, loses his job or annoys Marge, strangles Bart, ignores Lisa and loves Maggie (The record will show Maggie is quite close to him), Homer always comes out on top, he always has his home, family, Marges Love, his job and friends and enough to eat. Thats why Homer Simpson is really iconic. And yet I say the only watchable part of Futurama is the Homer Simpson ripoff, again why I love Family Guy, many reasons but the main one is Peter Griffin, clearly a charcter derived from Homer Simpson.

It was even in Treehouse of Horror 13 where one of the Homer Clones was Peter Griffin (That was saying something obvioulsy)

Futurama is dull compared to the Simpsons, at least with Family Guy, the spinoff American Dad is quite good and carried by standout charcter the effeminate selfish alien Roger and the Cleveland show, solely as its just so much like Fmaily Guy, but again with great charcaters. Lela, Hermes and the Jewish squid dude just don't do it for me like Brian or Rilo.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
