There's only six episodes in this first season right?
I love it. You can't beat a good zombie apocalypse.

I fell asleep around 10:30...what happened at the end after the van was stolen?

spoiler:
The camp got attacked by Zombies, they managed to kill all of them, but not before several characters were killed/eaten. A sad death scene between two charcters near the end.

This is what I don't get-how far is that camp from Atlanta, because it seems to me that Rick and Co made it there in double time. Did those zombies find the camp because they smelled the fish from the fish fry? Cause if so, those survivors were dumb. The smell of fish carries. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Yeah, you'd think after that one Zombie showed up at the camp previously, they'd be more vehemently on the lookout for any more approaching Zombies. Just another plotline to move the story along.

I'm curious about how the comic book (the source material) compares. It has tons of issues (editions, not problems!) My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

I think they thought that one zombie was a fluke. The comic is supposed to be really good. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Oh man! Missed the best part! Who died? Anyone important?

I've haven't read the books, but I'm told they're AWESOME; much better than the TV adaptation even. (But then all purists say that sort of thing.)
Anyway, I also have no idea from the books, then, about how this latest episode transpires. But one speculation I'm hearing kicked around is that Merle stole the van, stuffed it with zombies and delivered them to the camp as a sort of revenge. Seems far-fetched to me, but I thought it was interesting. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

The survivors better get to de-braining those bodies, too, or those folk are gonna come back soon... hungry.

I'm watching the first few episodes now.
I'm really enjoying the story (even if it's same old, same old)...but the acting is killing me!

I'm very bad with Character names, but the husband who had a wife and daughter who got beaten up by the other Sheriff and the younger sister of the woman who was rescued in Atlanta. They had two great scenes, one in the lake, and the death scene at he end. Other charcters got eaten, but I guess they don't count cuz they're always in the background .

Yeah, there's no middle ground: The good performances are great, but the bad ones are.
By the way, I'm curious: Do you think Andrew Lincoln (the lead) is hot? [Edited 11/22/10 10:49am] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Ed and Amy.
Incidentally, I saw their deaths coming from a mile away.
I think the black dude, the racist and the smart old guy are gonna be next to bite the dust. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

This is one of my favorite new shows. I was disappointed to hear that the season is so short but glad they've ordered more.
Unfortunately, Zombies aren't the most scary thing to me (because they're so slow and stupid) but the drama of it all keeps me interested.
Who thinks the lead will find out about his wife and partner before this season ends?

I'm guessing AMC didn't anticipate the breakout success of the show and therefore ordered only the 6 episodes. Oddly, it'll work in their favor: The long gap until the next season is gonna drive people nuts! They'll be feenin' for the Season 2 debut.
Zombies aren't scary to me either... until I think about what they represent: death and futility themselves. They never stop, their singular purpose is devouring you and even survival does nothing but increase the odds against you and those you love. Really uncomfortable stuff.
I think Rick may find out about his wife and partner this season, but it won't play out until the next. Should be interesting. [Edited 11/23/10 16:47pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

This is kind of like LOST but simply with zombies instead of an over intricate mystical island. And without the long character flashbacks... but similar drama appeal. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Zombies have always scared me more than any other monsters, maybe because I think a plague could really wipe us out. Anyway, Walking Dead is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I love this show. I've heard a lot of ppl say they got a little bored with it after a while, but I've been locked into this story the whole time. It sucks that the season is going to end so soon. I graduated bitches!!! 12-19-09
