Are you a fussy eater?

I pretty much eat anything, but some of my friends are really fussy - it's easier to make a list of what they do eat than what they don't.

I have given up trying to cook for them so we either get take-away or eat out whenever we eat together.

It seems to me that vegetables are pretty common for people to be fussy about.

How fussy are you when it comes to food?

What foods don't you eat?

Do you eat foods only if they're cooked a certain way?

TELL ME!

I've eaten snails! They were very chewy and were smothered in garlic sauce.

There'd have to be some pretty special sauce on offer for me to try brains. Ewww.

Oh, I've eaten both in the past and i would again if I had to.

It's just that I prefer not to. Only thing I'm fussy about is hygiene.

Don't anybody touch my food no no no!

I said it once and I'll say it again. Men don't wash their hands after using the (public) restroom barf

I have texture and smell issues with certain foods.

I do not expect others to cater to my food issues though.

I wish I did not have the issues that I do with certain foods. It is frustrating.

sigh

Yes.

I have food allergies, so I am usually scared to try new things for fear of a reaction.

I also have "texture issues".... I can't do slimy or mushy ill

(I saw "pussy" at first, too! lol)

I'm fussy in the sense that I take care in what I'm eating the vast majority of the time. I don't eat fast food with any regularity and I'm trying to cut down dramatically on packaged food. I buy organic at least 50% of the time as well.

I do eat out quite a bit, but mostly stuff that I know where it comes from. I eat lunch out nearly every day, but it's always freshly prepared and nutritionally balanced and 300-400 calories. And affordable. smile

I suppose being vegetarian could be considered fussy eating in some parts, but to me it's just having a conscience.

Other than that I'll try anything (non-animal/insect based) once. And I don't like raw tomatoes, but I can put up with them if necessary.

I will not eat eggs at all (well unless they are in a cake wink ). I cannot stand the texture and smell.

I cannot eat raw banana's because of texture. (Here again, I can if it is in a cake or muffin wink )

Ummm mushrooms....texture. Raw tomatoes....texture.

Cooked onions....texture.

I think that is about it.

lol

I'll eat just about anything except organ meat. I will eat liver every once in a long while. I used to eat fried chicken hearts on occasion, but haven't had one in years. About the only veggies I don't really care for (but will eat them if need be) are celery, mushrooms, and green bell peppers. Other foods I will eat cooked only a certain way, like okra. I love fried okra, but don't give it to me boiled--too damn slimy. It seems to me it would be like eating a slug. And oysters. I've tried 'em every way possible, but they all suck.

I'm really not. There are very few foods that I won't eat, at all (mushrooms are probably #1 on the list). But if I'm going to eat something I don't really care for (like eggs or ham), I'm very fussy about how they're prepared. Basically, eggs have to be prepared in such a way that I don't even really know they're there. They're just a vehicle for lots of veggies, bacon and cheese. (When I eat eggs, I'm after the protein and vitamin A, and that's it.) With ham, it has to be a really super awesome dry ham. It can't be rubbery in the least. shake

I have a pretty restricted diet for medical reasons, so I don't really have the luxury of not liking anything.

Eww. I don't like rubbery ham either.

Mushrooms seems to be a common food dis-like.

At least I'm consistent. Eggs, ham and mushrooms all have that sort of spongy, rubbery texture to them. Totally gag-worthy. ill

Oh I have texture issues with ham too. I forgot that one. I can eat a whole spiral cut honeybaked ham but if it is boiled, rubbery or slimey, forget it.
