damn my throat is sore

There are all kinds of strange white bumps on the back of my throat. It's extremely painful to swallow. It's impossible to sleep because it's so painful. Nothing to do but stare at the org. At least, it distracts me and I cough less.

pat Oh that sucks. Warm milk with honey and taking some bee propolis can be very helpful.

I just got over mine by gargling with a mug of hot water and 1/8 teaspoon of chayenne pepper. I don't know if I recommend that to you, since you have those white spots! It's definitely only for people who can take the heat.

I also tried Apple Cider Vinegar and hot water before and had success. I just had a hard time with the vinegar (I have no problem with spices though).

The idea is that you are killing the germs (with the vinegar or the capsium in the chayenne) at the back of your throat and letting it heal itself.

gargling with honey and salt water seems to be the only thing that soothes it. And only if I do it constantly. MY GOD this is painful! I have never experienced this kind of thing before. I tried the cayenne pepper and my entire esophagus felt on fire. no no no!

Seems I'm not getting well anytime soon. neutral

Hot water can irritate it. Lemon can too. White spots aren't good, and it's going to take more than a hot cup o' tea to keep it in check. They need to go to the doctor, asap.

the alarming white streaks have changed to rough pink bumps and the ibuprofren seems to be dulling the pain and clearing the head a bit

hopefully it's a sign toward improvement

White streaks or spots in the throat is a symptom of strep. Get to the doctor immediately.

It's not strep. Strep is characterized by no coughing. I had it once and hardly knew it. I'm telling you, this is one coughing carnivale.

You know what though? I don't think a nurse phone consult is enough. Please see a doctor sad

Well, I trust my nurse friend more than I trust doctors, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to just get it checked out. Like a second opinion type of thing. smile

I appreciate your concern. hug

Ugh the polyps, thinking about it is making me itch. I had those a few times. Once I took antibiotics because it ended up really bad. I have been succesful with gargling in the early stages and it would pop out. Maybe google and research it on medical sites for temporary home remedies. Hopefully u can get some rest and get some relief when u see a doctor. hug
