I had to hurry and email that article to my daughter. That's a shame. I loved him. But when he played here in Philly for the Sixers the press and city gave him such a hard way to go. Good luck A.I., sure gonna miss you. sad

Just heard his retirement speech and I like how he thanked old legends that he looked up to and the city of Philadelphia..We will miss him here..

I don't think that many do.

Have you ever played basketball with an Englishmen or a Canadian? (outside of steve nash) when I was in college we played a friendly international tournament with a team from Mexico, Canada, and some English. It was how can I describe this kindly,,, You know how Elaine from Seinfield does that dance thats so horrible but you can't take your eyes off of it? Thats how I would describe Canadian and English Basketball. lol

falloff I remember playing county stuff and I wasn't too bad at that level but looking back our coaching, especially at school, was so poor. We mainly ran around like headless chickens, which meant any of our guys with any decent skills were rendered useless against even mediocre players from 'posh' schools who were taught properly. When I was around 15 or 16 I knew some guys who played for Great Britain and I never thought they were any better than me, just had had better coaching and were more professional about it. Still, I think in general Brits are a bit soft at basketball. I know I certainly was, although basketball occasionally brought out this rare, odd petulant and aggressive side to me. lol Totally against character but I got thrown out of 2 games, totally inexplicably. falloff Maybe I needed to find that side to me more and channel it properly.

NONSENSE

Maybe AI will do like Prince. Change his name to a symbol and return. Afterall, they share June 7th Birthday. I'd like to see him sign with Miami or Cleveland. AI and D Wade would be sick. Or how about AI, Lebron and Shaq?

not a hall of famer.

LOL you sure, one of the greatest lil men ever. has an MVP, Finals appearance and 3 All-NBA 1st teams, 3 scoring titles that say otherwise.

He'll never be recognized as one of the greats. Kinda like Dominique Wilkins and Alex English. Great scorers, just never considered great players.

'Nique can't be lumped in with someone like AI. I consider him a great player, despite never winning a ring. no no no!

I may be biased being a Hawks fan though, and him being my favourite all time player. lol

Nope, those guys were never NBA MVPs, led a team to the Finals, have multiple 1st teams (Nique has 1, English zero) and multiple scoring titles (both have 1.)

If the Spurs, or Celtics would have recruited him he would not be retiring. He's being dramatic. And had he not let his personal life cloud his game, maybe he'd be better off right now.
