What are your most precious possessions and why?

(non-human)

biggrin

When I was 16, I fully expected to be able to build my own KITT car.

Not at all.

I covet all kinds of fancy kitchen things, but all my stuff is really middle of the road, normal stuff. I got my first crock pot, food processor and cast iron skillet in the last year and I feel like Julia fuckin' Child. lol

I just chose my cooking tools because it's what brings me the most joy as far as material possessions. I don't get attached to things, I know that sounds pretentious but it's actually not always a good thing. It means I don't always take very good care of my things. I love cooking and feeding the people I love, so my pots and pans and oven and knives are precious to me.

a set of authentic, handmade Russian nesting dolls that my (paternal) grandmother gave me when I was a teenager...we had a very rocky relationship, one that was never patched before she passed...sad

I've got to the age and stage that I'm thinking of getting the quality tools, since I'm putting the time in the kitchen.

Yeah, it's definitely something I plan on investing in.

I inherited a great set of Calphalon pans when I moved in with Chris; before I'd been using a ragtag bunch of secondhand aluminum crap. And this past Christmas he bought me a set of Global knives, which have changed my life in the kitchen more than anything else to date. mushy

I need more quality baking pans: loaf pans, muffin tins, cake pans, baking sheets, etc. I baked bread last night but had to do the loaves one at a time in my one loaf pan. And different sizes of cast iron pans, and a grill pan. And a pastry cutter. Some ramekins would be nice, and a mallet/tenderizer is definitely needed. I've been pounding chicken breasts with my fists. lol

all are replaceable, but they are the things I use the most, and have put the most money towards. I don't have any priceless jewelry or family heirlooms or anything lol

My music collection. Who can live without music?

My laptop. I spend most of my time on the computer. If I didn't have one, then life would be even more boring.

My musical instruments. I suck at every one of them but it's still fun to fuck around with them hug

My books fallinluv

My magazines. It sounds a bit creepy but looking at all those pictures and clothes always puts me in an ota-ass good mood.

My bed hug

That's all, I think.

the only things that really come to mind as "precious" are the photographs - could never replace those.

just about everything else - replaceable. I think it's important not to let your stuff own you.
